This. Tuna is cheap. It's going to be cheaper than the turkey, ham, roast beef, etc. used in other sandwiches. It makes no sense to make a fake version of one of your cheapest proteins. That's like counterfeiting $1 bills. If anything, Subway would want to figure out how to compress tuna into a fake roast-beef substitute.So... canned tuna is pretty cheap, right? I'd imagine buying tuna in bulk can be even cheaper... what on earth would they be gaining by not putting tuna in there? What would they replace it with?
My guess is, if anything, subway is a victim here. They buy something stamped on the container "tuna" and they're getting cheated.

They solved the roast beef problem by taking it off the menu altogether

That bugged me. I don't go to Subway very often, but the Subway Club was my go-to. Really confused me last time I went there and didn't see it.They solved the roast beef problem by taking it off the menu altogether

I've noticed the quality of the Italian sub at Wawa has gone down hill recently (in the last few years). More meat but they are using cheap cotto salami instead of hard salami.

I have a soft spot for Subway (fight me), but only crazy people go there for tuna subs.
My go to is the oven roasted chicken breast. Lettuce tomato, black olives, pickles, onion, black pepper and mayo. The breath destroyer.

My local subway has been closed for 6+ months due to construction next door, but they say they will return once completed.
Their cookies are still absolute tops.

Had to get some cash (for the yard guy) at the Wawa and went to order a roast beef sub and first, no provolone was available. OK, swiss. Then on the toppings screen, tomatoes not available.

Subway went downhill as soon as they stopped scooping the bread out.

My high school cafeteria used to sell Otis Spunkmeyer. The special ed class would sell them straight out of the specifically branded Spunkmeyer oven. It was the **** and the only reason I made sure I had cash at school.

Made the mistake of stopping at Popeye's on the South Side yesterday. Nightmare. Got hit up by a panhandler actually in the freaking store, and the soda machine was down, all they had was lemonade. Spicy chix sandwich made it semi worth it.
Speaking of which, I have been to Popeye's between here and North Carolina maybe 10 times now and at least 3 of those their soda has been down and/or out. I don't recall this ever happening anywhere else in all my years of hitting fast food joints.
