When I watched that tournament, I was pulling for him so hard.I was so sad for Mediate. Dude gave absolutely everything he had.

lol such bad luck for Phil. They showed the replay of the 2008 US Open at Torrey where he kept **** up his wedge approach. Then on his real shot today he hits the flagstick and his ball is kicked into the rough

Dechambeau chipped from behind a red hazard line on one of the par 3s. I thought the red line was OB, or am I misunderstanding its purpose?

Red line marks the hazard. You can play from inside a hazard. Otherwise, you drop two club lengths from where it crossed. White stakes are OB and cause you to hit it again.

Took what I learned at my golf lesson and shot a 72 on a 9 hole course that I shot a 53 on 5 days ago. So, yeah, feeling really great about the 36 holes I have scheduled this weekend.

The Driving range is your friend

It's like one of those things where it gets worse before it gets better. I guess I should have warned not to do a lesson too close to any meaningful rounds lol

My lesson was Wednesday, went to the range Thursday, played the 9 today. I thought the 9 would put me on an even keel before my tournament but now I am just pissed. Might go to Corsi's tonight just to get some reps in with data.
I think I am mad because is it wasn't even any one thing. I was absolute dogshit in all aspects of the game. Super frustrating.
I smoked the longest drive I have hit in years. A no-doubter. Problem was my slice showed back up and it went across a fence, over a country road, beyond a driveway, and into someone's front yard. Then I topped the follow-up. *sigh*

72 on 9 is hard to do even for a bad golfer. You could have probably beaten that carrying only an 8 iron

Schaffele's putting is soooo bad today.
Phil has had some great birdie looks but hasn't been able to make them fall.

kind of why I don’t like playing 9. Sometimes it takes me a hole or two to get into the round, last weekend I doubled two of the first three holes and threw an internal temper tantrum that lasted until the 11th hole where I finally stopped caring about the prior holes and ended up with a 39 on the back and still posted a solid 85. But then on Wednesday, I wasn’t paying attention on hole one and grabbed by sw when I meant to hit the lw and sailed an easy chip over the green. Just got immediately annoyed and didn’t want to play the rest of the round. My lesson was Wednesday, went to the range Thursday, played the 9 today. I thought the 9 would put me on an even keel before my tournament but now I am just pissed. Might go to Corsi's tonight just to get some reps in with data.

Nice reads

Thought we could do something fun with it being US Open week. Pick five golfers (any five). If more than one of your golfers misses the cut, you are out. Lowest score relative to par after the weekend with your remaining golfers wins. If all five of your golfers make the cut, you can take the four best scores from that group after Sunday.
Here are my guys:
Jon Rahm
Collin Morikawa
Patrick Reed
Tony Finau
Xander Schaffele
So is this essentially the four best scores out of the five, or if you're 5th misses the cut you still have to count that score?
