Just booked an AirBnb up in Waterville, PA for the last weekend in August. The house is right on Pine Creek, about 20 miles south of the Pine Creek Gorge (Grand Canyon of PA). Pretty excited...should be a great weekend outside for the kids with no Wifi/cell service.

I don't know how much of an issue it was in Pittsburgh and its surroundings, but for a few years Waze was infamous for routing people in the LA area down side streets that fed into 6-lane boulevards, and instructing drivers to make left turns on to said boulevards from stop signs. It was awful, and actively encouraged me to stop using the app.

Only in LA would you have "6-lane boulevards". Those are called mega highways in these here parts.

Ya boy the kangaroo has camped at Little Pine state park. Gr8 spot to get the eff away from people. good hiking, good fishing, good bike riding, and if you are feeling like it, Williamsport is actually not as bad as most would expect. if you are interested in doing any boozing, definitely check out new trail brewing and therapy brewing. therapy is a pretty long drive from Waterville but it is a friggin awesome place to imbibe.shafnutz05 wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 12:56 pm Just booked an AirBnb up in Waterville, PA for the last weekend in August. Our dad took my brother and I to the Grand Canyon of PA and Niagara Falls in a borrowed Winnebago when I was about 12. While descending the canyon we turned a corner and some guy was taking topless photos of a young woman in a waterfall.
12 year old me enjoyed that trip.

A week from now I should be landing at CLT on my first flight in 14 months. I try not to say anything at home but I can't freaking wait to get back on the road.

Welp, today was the return to the way it used to be. MCO was a madhouse at security (which is why having TSA Pre is a must), gate agents were calling for people to start checking their carry-ons, and my first totally full flight since the pandemic started. Not a fan.

Have you been to Bald Heads Brewing in Jersey Shore? They have great reviews, and interestingly have two other locations in Manayunk and Audubon (outside of Philly).

I have not been there, but good maps makes it seem like it is in an old woolrich distribution center, so that seems pretty neatshafnutz05 wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 7:08 am

Audubon, PA near King of Prussia.
There's a "Jersey Shore" PA up near the Allegheny Mountains. Don't ask me how that makes sense.

The story is actually kind of cool.
Jersey Shore was originally named Waynesburg by the two brothers, Reuben and Jeremiah Manning, who laid out the town circa 1785. Around the time that this was happening, a settlement arose on the eastern side of the West Branch Susquehanna River (Nippenose Township), opposite Waynesburg. A rivalry developed between the two settlements, and those on the eastern shore began referring to the settlement on the western shore as the "Jersey Shore," because the Manning family had relocated from New Jersey. The nickname became so fixed that in 1826 the original name of Waynesburg was officially abandoned and changed to Jersey Shore

Hiked bushkill falls this morning. Lots of nice scenery and a good hike overall. Hit all 19 lookouts or whatever they are called along the trail.

Nice!! Beautiful up there, the key is to get there early before the tour buses from NY/NJ arrive.skullman80 wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 2:05 pm Hiked bushkill falls this morning. Lots of nice scenery and a good hike overall. Hit all 19 lookouts or whatever they are called along the trail.
