The addition of create a player moves it past NHL 94 for me. It did have the broken, take the puck behind the net and the goalie’s own guy will interfere with him for your easy score mechanic though. To this day I remember NHL 95's music. I loved that game so much

Hmmm...I guess Super Mario Bros (NES) because that was my start in video games, I beat it when I was 3 or 4 and played it a zillion times thereafter probably...

We didn't have Tecmo Bowl but we did have NES Play Action Football with the diagonal top-down view of the field.

How about through the years:
Al Unser Jr's Turbo Racing/Bill Elliot's NASCAR Challenge
OG Mario Kart
High school was playing outside
GoldenEye
Halo
And +1 to MR25 and Play Action Football, which didn't have any play action if I recall.

In retrospect, I should've had Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer on my list. When I interviewed at EA a couple years ago, they had a demo of this playing on a loop in the lobby, and I actually got a little verklempt.chuck yeagar's air combat
