Even though the puck is nowhere near the play? They can on major/match situations. It's unlikely that you'll get that call along the boards like that though...Source of the post Times like this that the linesmen should be able to make a call.

Yeah, because unless you're looking directly at his foot motion, you think that he probably just put a guy in hard...which is ok...
You really need, especially as a liney, to be 100% sure if you're going to advise a referee on a call like that...we're talking about a third period major in a tie game of the pivotal game of the series...so this really has to be something...
Whether it was or not in this case is immaterial, just saying in general, that's a tough call to make...slewfoot is a much easier call in the middle of the rink, naturally...

For sure, Rust never touched the puck.Geno is now credited with the Pens' 3rd goal.
That's the right call, technically.
Kinda sucks for Rust because without his push of Saad's stick, that puck doesn't go in, but those are the rules.

Yeah you just don't do this. For the same reason why it was dumb to put Fleury in when Murray was on a roll last year, it's equally as dumb to put Murray in while Fleury is rolling. You ride the hot hand.Source of the post Fleury is playing well, but I put Murray back in the second he is 100%.
^^^This guy gets it.

That's as tremendous as Errey narrating an Antarctic mating documentary.

OK, somebody HAS to make that a thing. Corner him in the offseason with a tablet and a microphone or something. Tell him it's for the good of the world. That's as tremendous as Errey narrating an Antarctic mating documentary.

I posted this in another thread, but the Errey vid reminded me of this actually happening, not an edit:

Anybody go to the game?
Many PIT fans there?
Sounded like there were not many, very surprised given how close, popular the Pens are, with Columbus being new.

Is 17 years really new?
Also, ticket sales were limited by zip code, Columbus fans are excited to see their team in the playoffs, and tickets at PPGPA were cheaper than tickets at NWA.
