He tweeted that last night after the first period. But still...brilliant analysis, Rob.

When you combine his NHL regular season stats with his playoff numbers so far and add in his WBS numbers, Guentzel's 2016-2017 season stats look like this:

76 games played, 41 goals, 39 assists, 80 points and a +30

Let THAT sink in.

I mean, if you are Rob Rossi - and you fancy this as your job... at what point do you just give up with the hot take attempts and realize you are pretty bad at understanding the sport you are covering? I mean the guy should just go comment at HFboards and be done with it.

Geno is now credited with the Pens' 3rd goal.

That's the right call, technically.

I'd put Hornqvist with Crosby a few shifts. Will take cutesy out of top line's play and make Bobrovsky look more uncomfortable.
Well, I'd put Rob Rossi onto the relative obscure website at 'upgruv'. Would take the absolute idiocy out of the top online sports news websites and make everyone on the planet more comfortable.

For sure, Rust never touched the puck.

I feel like in a world of responsible journalism, Rossi would be nowhere near Penguins' coverage. Even if he were right and Rutherford had ruined the Pens, that personal vendetta against JR was so out of line.

All his buddies were canned...he probably doesn't get scoops like he used to (maybe? I don't know, I don't read anything about the team really) and so he's going with the hatchet job...that's politics hockey politics...

He's not working at a Dairy Queen either, so the scoops have really dried up...

Times like this that the linesmen should be able to make a call.

Kenny the kangaroo does try to not agree with Rossi, but Sid was not prime Sid for most of the game. So his viewpoint was somewhat understandable.

Sid was obviously on his game in OT, though.

Agreed. I'm never a fan of killing momentum come playoffs by having a long off period but getting Haglin and Kunitz back for the bottom 6 and getting Murray back would be nice. Fleury is playing well, but I put Murray back in the second he is 100%.

They can on major/match situations. It's unlikely that you'll get that call along the boards like that though...

Yeah you just don't do this. For the same reason why it was dumb to put Fleury in when Murray was on a roll last year, it's equally as dumb to put Murray in while Fleury is rolling. You ride the hot hand.

Murray is Sullivan's starter, so I would not be shocked if he put him back in. It would somewhat surprise me at this point, though.

Internally, they have a time table for his return...but they have been tight-lipped about it. But you play it out...Fleury has won 3 games out of 3...he was super in games 1 and 2...game 3 was not strong, but it's rare to string together 20-25 strong performances in a row when facing this level of competition (with this defense)...

If Fleury starts to falter, it'd be nice to have Murray available...but right now, it's a non-issue...Murray isn't available...

I'm sure Rossi is dying to ask if Jarry has a chance of playing.
