Not only that, but the Rangers road record is 18-17... compared to a 25-8 home record.It's no longer about just getting in... now it's about where we end up. Hopefully 2nd since playing the caps seems like it's not going to happen.
If you are looking at the Islanders, road is 18-16... compared to a 24-9 home record.
Sure its not meant much in the past, and the penguins have shown it hasn't really mattered to them as their road record is better than both teams, but I think it still makes the road easier... also there are as you said second round considerations.
