I wouldn't be surprised if Smith had a bounce back year next year.
Also wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow is the last game he plays for us too

Smith is just not smart enough for Sullivan's system. Last night there were at least 3 times including twice in the third period where he made unnecessarily high risk plays on the offensive half wall that were low percentage to begin with and plays nobody should be making while leading in a must win game. All 3 were turnovers.

Smith will find a new home somewhere. He's a good hockey player, but not ideal for this team. I believe EK will have a better season next year. I don't know what the hell you do with Graves. It wouldn't be that bad to buy him out a year from now, but they're stuck with him next season unless someone will take him, but we'd have to part with an asset for that to happen. Dude's game is a dumpster fire.

Does he have a movement clause? That new SLC team might need some new players if Arizona players ask to be moved.

That gifted point to the Red Wings is really gonna bite us in the ass isn't it.

Up 2 goals and blowing leads in the 3rd bit the Pens' ass all season.

Also, Graves has a NMC and limited trade clause (12 teams I think)

Felt like the boys kept winning as long as I stayed away, so I got ultrastitious.
Sigh.

There’s a lot to be angry about, but this is number one for me. The PP cast darkness on the whole season, start to finish, like the f’n Hindenburg.
You don’t always need to worry about blowing 3rd period leads when you have insurance goals. You’ve put the game away.

At least we got some exciting hockey the last few weeks. Hopefully they can build on the positives and learn from their mistakes.

It's always sad when a season comes to an end, but I already was emotionally prepared for them to miss the playoffs after the rough patch around the deadline. At least the last month or so was a lot of fun hockey.

It definitely has been fun. But the pens haven’t learned from their mistakes ever, even when they were winning. At least we got some exciting hockey the last few weeks. Hopefully they can build on the positives and learn from their mistakes.

Yea it was a strong finish, but this year was a bummer. Hopefully Sid keeps playing at this level, but nothing is guaranteed.
I’m really interested to see what changes come. But yea, Todd is in the Canada camp for me. He shouldn’t even finish out the last game, imo.

And just think of some of the PP units we’ve seen over the years.
I actually thought we’d end up sneaking in. If not us, then definitely the Red Wings. It didn’t occur to me for a moment that it would be the Caps.

This, for me, is what makes this year feel much worse than last year. This year was completely avoidable. All the lessons from last year? Pfffffffft.
