That offense sure did blow the doors off of the second stringers when they played their first team guys.

The timing was just as bad to the Steelers as it was to Kenny. I know that was somewhat brought on by themselves, but the year they needed a QB in the draft, there weren’t any there. They had to reach and hope it worked. It didn’t.

Yup. Should have drafted Ben's replacement several years prior

I still think it would've been interesting to bring Sam Darnold in for the final year of Ben's career, have him backup a HoF-caliber QB for a season and then see what's what. Woulda coulda shoulda, that time has past.

QBs even in awful situations find ways to have multiple touchdowns in at least a couple games. I’d say it was both Canada and KP. Not one vs the other being bad.

I still can’t believe they did it. I thought they’d hold onto him forever to prove they were right about him. Glad to see the move.

My wife got me a Pickett shirsey for Christmas...it was a partial gag gift, she wasn't a fan either. Maybe I'll repurpose it as a Touchdown Tommy tribute

It's not March 16th yet, but that can't be how that man talks, right?

“lol that’s Sammie Coates replacement not mines, take it how you want to I am back.”

I just remembered when KP was asked if he was learning anything from his time sitting and seeing the game from a different perspective and KP gave a very bitter “no.” Answer.
I mean Jesus man. Read the room. You’re not lighting the world on fire. Even if you’re not give the canned answer of seeing things from a different perspective and being able to look at things in real time without having to run the next play.
Enjoy backup land.

Good luck Kenneth

Still kinda in shock this morning. Shocked that the Steelers actually did this, and shocked Kenny could be this stupid.
I was rooting for Kenny, but incoming rant...
Regardless of what was said to him after last season, every team in the NFL will look to improve in the offseason. Every team. Every position. Nothing is guaranteed, and your job is always on the line...and your starting job is always in jeopardy. You may, some day, achieve enough while playing to build up enough 'credits' to hit a bad spell and still maintain status, but you are never entitled to anything.
Kenny hadn't earned anything. He was given the opportunity in his first year in large part due to Trubs being shockingly awful. Year two was to be his year, and he didn't show much. His only accrued 'credits' were some late game heroics (that were only made possible by your incredible defense) and your draft position. Yes, the OC was horrific, and that obviously contributed to your performance overall, but you also showed little pocket presence and missed some wide open throws every game. You showed little progression from your first game to your last.
So you should expect to compete. You haven't secured anything. And when that's presented to you in the form of another QB being signed, you decide to remove yourself from the competition. A chance (albeit slight) to win the job this year. A much better chance to establish yourself as a professional that handles adversity, and ready to step in next year if you show progress. But your sense of entitlement created a slight. A 'how could they do this to me' attitude.
Well, bye. Now you're behind an MVP finalist the last 2 years that's younger than you. Barring a Hurts injury, you are buried. Relegated to backup until Hurts gets hurt, falls off a cliff, or Philly decides to send you somewhere else. Plus you've added 'afraid or unwilling to compete against a 35 year old QB that has another team paying $39MM to NOT play for them' to your already stellar resume. Of course, maybe that's what you want. Backup QB in the NFL is a decent gig. So, enjoy, I guess.

I think all of that is spot on, only thing is I think he could usurp that Philly job. Hurts is getting paid as something that he’s not, and I don’t think the Philly brass is sold on him long term. He could be moved out just like they did with wentz.
So, a very good chance that Pickett is competing for that job next year.

Seems like he could have hit the wr open running at the pylon, instead he ran out of the pocket and got himself injured

Offensive points scored in Pickett complete games:
0-10 = 5
11-20 = 10
21-30 = 6
31+ = 0
He can f right off.
