With 3 NFL skill players and 2 NFL linemen - otherwise, the offense never really worked in college either

Bill Nunn was largely responsible for those picks and his contributions are severely underappreciated. IMO, he should be celebrated at the same level as Chuck Noll and the Chief.

Pittsburgh reportedly hiring Arthur Smith. Predictable of the predictable.

Makes sense. He doesn’t need money so he’ll accept the low salary.

Yeah, I saw a lot of memes with the old guy wearing the shirt that he got as a present and Pam from the office "It's the same picture" thing with Matt Canada and Arthur Smith's picture. No bueno.

But Najee is sort of like Derrick Henry-esque. I think? And Arthur Smith likes a lot of heavy TE formations, so if Soff Muth can stay in the lineup, he could be utilized more.

Anyway, it's like 15 days before pitchers and catchers report. We'll worry about the Steelers once the draft is over.

Right....... which iirc was about what the rest of the WR group all had combined, and doubled up the next WR in TDs.

i don't like the hire just to be clear, but take a look at those WRs and tell me why you'd expect them to put up anything differently than they did with Ryan Tannehill at QB and Henry having 30 carries/game

The problem for me is that we're going to continue to do this boring score two times a game offense. Should have just kept Sullivan and the RB coach because I don't really see much that changed right now. I also understand bright mind hires might not find this place desirable - but it sucks watching offenses continue to revamp themselves to today's current NFL and we're stuck in the 70s.

I'm willing to give him a shot. Plus, if he stinks, we just have to wait the three years til his contract expires.

If the qb has a pulse, he’s as good as tannehill

If you combine this with the Rooney "It's was Mike's idea" interview maybe when they don't improve this year Rooney can go ahead move on from Tomlin.

That's all Rooney did to make this situation worse.

If Tomlin waited forever to fire Canada - then it's on Tomlin.

If Tomlin said he was going to interview candidates, and cast a wide net - he didn't do that and hired the most predictable hire of predictable.

Why doesn't Tomlin ever hire up and comers or even give them a look?

Gotta give Smith a shot - but this hire seems as if it's an admission they don't have a starter quality QB for the long-term so they're just going to mail it in and continue on with what's been going on. That's not a successful hire, optic-wise, imo.
