Hahaha.Read this entire thread thinking it was all about this year and was severely confused
Anyways, the WJC is always a real fun watch. US will be up against it with no Bordeleau, but their D looks great. Short tourney, yada yada etc.

Germany could have Stuetzle, Reichel, and Peterka...but none of them will go. Ottawa and then gibberish reasons...that's like getting your dick kicked clean off if you're the Germans...
Looking at the USA roster...
Commesso is a good goalie.
Luke Hughes, Jake Sanderson, Scott Morrow have some serious range. Tyler Kleven is brutal, so hopefully he doesn't play much.
Beniers and young Cooley are awesome centers. Pastujov isn't fast, but he does everything right. Coronato is a real talent. We have worker bees that I like too in Berard, Mazur, Samoskevich (if he's back to work now, he fell off the last half of his draft year), Red Savage. I wonder a little bit about depth scoring and losing Bordeleau hurts. We can generate a lot from the defense. I would have swapped out one of the depth forwards for Dylan Peterson, but that's small potatoes. I might have brought Frank Nazar there to add some potential scoring depth. Speaking of, Jacob Perreault (best shot in his draft class) tried to play for the USA but didn't get a passport in time. So, that's basically five goals out of the lineup right there...
It would be really odd to me if this team didn't medal...

Narrator: puljujarvi was not better. He is a long trajectory player. Columbus went for the upper deck shot at this one. People will over react now because Puljujarvi will be better for the next few years (for the record, I have been all about Pulju for a couple years now...when he was 16 I said he would go 1st overall in 2016) but CBJ just wasn't feeling it and went with the long con...I can see it, but I don't agree with it...we'll see in 2020-ish where they're at on that...

Peak IIHF here.
Remember when they canceled all January tournaments, except for the one that we're playing? Well, for that tournament - which we're already doing - they wiped out the relegation part...which is basically a two game set between a rotating cast of Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, etc.
Next year, in two Russia cities that are hundreds of miles apart...we'll have 11 teams. Belarus up. No one down. What a bunch dumb c**ts...

The whole team was tested again this morning but they couldn't turn around the test results in time for a 430EDT puck drop?

Czech Republic, who now apparently calls themselves Chechia, have forfeited their game vs Finland due to a single positive test.
USA all negative last night, looking hopeful for this afternoons game.
Deep down I am really hoping for a Canada medal round forfeit just for the laughs...
