Nah, Murray has to be thrown in there if we're slinging mud. I know BIG GOALIE is in your pocket...but this thread isn't over until Murray gets mentioned. You can't give up bad goals at bad times and win a series. He was shot full of holes in the series...we got away with it against Philadelphia because they are Butt City, but against a Washington group with an NHL defense and an NHL goalie, we can't find two extra goals every game to cover for Murray's slopdick performance.
That's not excusing Letang or Kessel or anyone...but you just can't win a series with that against a real team...

1. Murray - he was good, but not great when he needed to be;
2. Letang - I hope he visits Oz over the summer to get a brain;
3. Injuries - we'll find out the extent of those tomorrow;
4. Whoever came up with the fvcked up use of Roman nvmerals with only IIIIIIIs.

I stand by my use of IIII, as it is historically accurate.

Shall om be placed officially in with the "loser crew"...?
Perhaps a sizable donation would help smooth things over...we could use the money for a working clock or avatars or an international airport, 5AF could really use an international airport...

Maatta had some terrible moments. Springing Backstrom for the GWG, missing the gaping net the other night...I hate that we can’t hate him sometimes.

I think that was pretty good part of it, yes. He really wasn't playing great hockey. Is that all there is to it? Nah, probably not. But I don't want anyone to look back and think this guy was taken out for the hell of it...he wasn't very good and at two sheets a year but actually having value, it's a move they obviously felt they needed to make and it's justifiable for me...You think his scratches were performance based?Was that the non-Hunwick d-man that was a healthy for us...?

Yeah, sorry chief, I'm still on patrol...Maatta had some terrible moments. Springing Backstrom for the GWG, missing the gaping net the other night...I hate that we can’t hate him sometimes.
I will say that he was on the ice for exactly two ES goals against in the entire playoffs...the one you mentioned that Ovechkin double-tapped and then the flimsy Chiasson goal tonight...
200 minutes of playoff hockey...
Sorry, my standard Maatta defense...

If I had to wager, I’d bet Maatta spent the highest percentage of his ice time in his own zone among the D. He may not have been scored on, but it seemed like he got hemmed in often and for long stretches.
