Respectable split vs the Phils and took a series against the oriels. Cocaine Mitch got 7 innings. I’ll most definitely take it.

Why do you call him that? I get that MM from KY was called that.Respectable split vs the Phils and took a series against the oriels. Cocaine Mitch got 7 innings. I’ll most definitely take it.
He deserves better.

Especially considering he's one of the more calm and soft spoken players on the entire team. Why do you call him that? I get that MM from KY was called that.Respectable split vs the Phils and took a series against the oriels. Cocaine Mitch got 7 innings. I’ll most definitely take it.

Although Benzodiazepine Mitch doesn't really roll off the tongue, so...

Should be interesting to see how they handle his spot in the rotation. My heart says give the shot to priester but my mind says who cares about priester he is just a guy

Vince Velazquez part 2.
It was a long shot for him to be an every fifth day guy coming off the injury he had. But I'm sure they were hoping for more than 2.5 weeks on the active roster.
I think I would try to stretch Ortiz out first (over Priester). They need to start moving guys out of the bullpen if they can, Borucki will be back, and I assume Mlodzinski will be up soon as well. They already have Roansy stashed there, they don't need him and Ortiz taking up space.

With Taylor reverting back to his mean. The only guys with meaningful playing time that are exceeding their expectations by decent margins are Joe and Olivares (and Olivares just because he has 3 HR in a SSS).
The two guys that significantly underperforming are Suwinski and Davis, and I think both of their peripherals indicate that things could turn around. They both have really low BABIP and high BB rates. Davis has a high K rate, but not out of control. Suwinski's is really low for him. I don't think either of them have any business batting under .200, so I think we could see some more production from them.
Cruz is struggling, but really no choice but to stick with it and hope he can figure out off speed pitches.
Hayes and Reynolds are obviously not MVP caliber players anchoring the lineup, but they providing capable production in those crucial spots, where 1-9 things are fine.
Knowing that the rotation is pitching over its head right now, so expecting regression there, the things I want to check back in on at the end of the month.
Reynolds and Hayes both over .750 OPS still.
Cruz OBP > .300
Suwinksi & Davis BA > .200

They did immediately win seven in a row after being 9-7.
Problem was that they went into Tampa at 20-9, got swept. Then came home and got swept by the Blue Jays.
The upcoming schedule is:
3 @ NYM
3 BOS
4 MIL
3 @ SFG
3 @ OAK
3 COL
Four tweeners (NYM, BOS, MIL, SFG), then two matchups where we are clear favorites (OAK, COL).
It'll be interesting to see who their first series loss comes against.

I think they drop one of the next two. The Mets one will be very annoying because they will have the advantage at starting pitcher every game. Kind of like how the first loss of the season was Keller versus Trevor williams

Guessing they didn’t want him going through the lineup a third time, and also likely looking to manage the workload.

Truly remarkable how the offense and the bullpen suck, and it’s the rotation that is the only good part of the team.

Well at least we saved Jared Jones from throwing less pitches than my 7th and 8th graders are allowed to throw
