We had our first real blow up from our kid last night. She's had some spats here and there, but last night she literally picked up her dinner plate from the table and chucked it like frisbee across the dining room.
Immediate time out, lots of tears from her, she calmed down and we made her help clean the mess up, and she was good from there. Took a lot for me not to laugh as I'm just a laugh at everything kind of guy. In hindsight I can chuckle a bit.
She's just over 3 years old, so this kind of thing was coming. So it begins.

Our kid has been tantrum city at 2.5 years old lately. Nothing like that, but certainly we enjoy dramatically falling to the ground and crying.

Not sure why but my kid never had a single temper tantrum. Not one. He's only been sick 4 times. Started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks. Weened himself off breast feeding. Potty training took maybe 2 weeks. How easy he has been made me terrified to have another as I'm sure it would have been made even for me. But I'm never having another one so pfidc 1 god 0.
....then again he's going to be a teenager soon

Our daughter never had a full blown tantrum in her life. That said, our son is 21 months old and I can already tell it's coming. He will start Hulk smashing whatever is closest to him if he's irritated by something.

I’m imagining a mini Shad with a sweatband around his headset to hold it all together. Lol

So the Osmo came today and it looks pretty neat. My son is slowly getting the hang of it even though he's not yet 3 and it's rated for 3-6. But I have to vent because you need an adapter for a new Fire tablet. And the adapter is literally a rubber band. So they have this nice product that I now have a hair tie wrapped around because I refuse to spend $10 for a small piece of silicone.

Our Daycare has been closed the first half of this week because of staffing issues. Our son has been a total nightmare for this time.
I asked for a refund for the week since they're only getting him for one day, and was looked at like I had a horn coming out of my head. I am not thrilled with the daycare and won't do them any favors going forward, that's for sure.

Daycares do not give refunds... ever. Doesn't matter what the case.

They ended up giving me half credit, but prior to them closing they had asked if anyone can keep their kid home for full refund +50. We have a bunch of meetings this week, they didn't get enough volunteers and they still closed and still left us out.

While I typically agree, this seems like an extenuating circumstance. F that daycare. Though, the only option to this is probably higher tuition to offset the needed higher pay.Daycares do not give refunds... ever. Doesn't matter what the case.

That's a tough situation for everyone. Glad I don't have to deal with it anymore, that's for damn sure.

Ultimately I think that's going to be the case. I get never getting a refund if the daycare goes down for a day, some random issue happens, but this is closing services for a week because they can't find people. While I typically agree, this seems like an extenuating circumstance. I have weird feelings about paying a daycare money and receiving no benefit from it.

I have similar issues with our daycare, Morkle and also get a little queasy when we have to pay with no services. But as long as that money is going to the employees and not the owners, I don't mind. The workers are most likely underpaid and they take care of my kids. Give them the extra moolah.

Speaking of daycares, ours sends a billing statement randomly throughout the month and always says "payments must be made by the end of the month". We do ACH debits every second thursday, so my wife texted our owner and said "hey, if you need to run it today, that's fine". The owner said no, keep on your current plan. But your message on the statement said we have to pay in full by the last day of the month. Confusing.

Well this is exactly it. I'm annoyed because they have nobody to pay to watch our kids, still want the money, and I know it's not going to teachers who watch my kid.I have similar issues with our daycare, Morkle and also get a little queasy when we have to pay with no services. Well they shut our room down because of no staff support (people have been quitting). They're still operating in Pods because of COVID. So there were no teachers in our POD so they shut it down, meaning we were effectively paying nobody, because there was nobody to watch them.

We were very lucky to find a really good early learning center about ten minutes away. I know I've mentioned that it was HUGE for our daughter, and it was obvious how far ahead she was of her peers when she started kindergarten. Our son just started going back and I can already see the development since he was a bit behind being at home.
They just announced the end of masking at day care, but will still take temps in the morning. That seems reasonable and I think it will be so nice for the kids to be able to see their teachers' faces, especially the younger ones like my son.

So far my wife has had 4 rounds of bloodwork with one final one scheduled Friday and then an ultrasound next week.
Like she's 3 weeks pregnant. The first bloodwork confirmed she was pregnant. Why does she need to be more pregnant.
I don't remember this the first go around. It reeks of copay money grabs. SMH

3 weeks pregnant or 3 weeks since you first found out she's pregnant? Is she considered "geriatric" for a pregnant woman (over 35)?
