I really wish Hyundai would sell their new Staria van here in the US.

It's time to change the transmission fluid on my Wrangler. While doing it I'm going to replace the filter and pan gasket. Is there any reason to go OEM vs third party? And if not, what third party manufacturers would you fellows, who are smarter than me, recommend?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm using OEM fluid, but am considering Wix or another third party for the filter and pan gasket.

Thanks! I can't get a Mopar filter om Amazon for a couple weeks, which was why I was asking. I'll call around to some local auto parts stores.

I'm kicking around selling my Miata just because the resale prices are that good right now. I looked on cars.com for cars with similar years and mileage and the prices are ridiculous. Mine has primarily sat in the garage over the last two years and has racked up maybe 1200 miles tops. Now that I have my mortgage paid off, I've been mulling a second car. I like the Mazda Miata RF, and I was thinking that I'll wait until they're getting under 15,0000 and then maybe pick up one. But even cars that are getting close to five years old are still more than $25,000. It's nuts.

My wife has a jeep cherokee, I changed her oil once with an aftermarket filter and it puked all the oil out through the filter housing. OEM only for me unless there's like a 5x price difference. Then maybe I will think about it

That's weird. I've been using Fram filters for years and the only time I ever had a problem was when the gasket from the old filter got stuck around the spout and I didn't notice. Screwed in the new one, filled up the oil reserve, turned the car on and oil spewed out everywhere from around the filter.
Lesson learned. Always make sure the gasket is still on the old filter.

The screw in filters are fine, it's the cartridge one I didn't trust.
But on my ram cummins I use OEM Mopar filters all around.

My local dealer has one Type-S - in that shitawful gold (tiger pearl) color. They're selling it for MSRP ($53k), which is actually a surprise, given that many other dealers are adding on $6-10k in 'adjusted market value' fees. It's already overpriced at $53k, and closer to $60 is absurd. The few reviews I've seen from people who took test drives are not terribly good, either. Most common complaint is that it felt 'average' to drive. That would be a huge swing and a miss for a turbocharged AWD car.Hadn't looked since I bought the Mazda, has this hit the streets yet?I tried so hard to justify the new turbo Type-S, but just cannot do it. My TL is probably going to be the final brand new car I buy - perhaps even the final car I buy, given that it's still super low mileage, and I never drive anymore.Source of the post Surprisingly this means that for once in my life I purchased something at the right time.
This one is going to my son when he's able to take a car to college, so given my wife wants to drive her Flex into the ground, the next one might be my last one unless I take a job in the city at some point.

The used car market is bonkers. A friend traded her 2019 CR-V in on a ‘21 and her payment dropped significantly due to the ridiculous trade in.
Our 2020 Pilot is worth the same as what we paid for it a year ago. I might go trade it in for the next trim level up and get the automatic trunk that’s not in our current trim level.

I really don't want a second payment right now but feel like my wife's jeep won't ever be higher in value.

Private party value of the '16 Fusion we paid $17,900 for my kid to drive 2 years ago is now... $17,855. Trade in $15k.

Must just be newer cars. For the longest time, my TL-S had a ridiculous value. Checked last week, and it's under $9500.

Sell FUBO, buy Telluride, sell after a few months, profit?

no. sell Telluride, buy more FUBO

I just don't see the Telluride appeal. I think they look nice, but when I sat in one, I knew I wasn't paying what they were asking for a KIA.

Also I bought my 19 Ram for 34K, saw a model 3 years older than mine being sold for 39K and twice the miles. I am so thankful I bought when I did.

I just don't get how car prices are as high as they are right now, when so many more people are driving less.
