This was my stance, since
1. Unable to refill water (our only option is sink)
2. Unable to flush the toilet
3. Unable to shower
4. Unable to clean used dishes (I had a bowl of cereal with milk that sat out for the full 8 hours. It smelled horrendous).
I lived a year without AC. I can deal with no power for 8 hours.

You don't need electricity to live.

Sure. I have 2 charcoal grills; light the fire, put a pot of water (which I chose over the electricity) over the coals, monitor the temp with a thermometer. Or heat the water to temp and dump it into an Igloo or Coleman cooler for the cook - it will only loose a degree or two over an hour in an insulated vessel. Or even if I lose both electricity and water, I can scoop out a gallon or so of water from my pool and follow the same heating method.

Oh, I see others have already addressed this.

Water, easily. I can whizz in my back yard if necessary, and I think most of us in the last year skipped out on some showering. But no electricity means no AC, no computers or internet, no lights, and no power to keep my food cold in the fridge.

This is for 1 day right? I can still go to the corner store for a bottle of water?
Lose the water. 100%.

Def. go no water for 8 hours. I'd buy a few jugs of spring water, and play on the PC all day.

Just drink out of the water heater if it comes to that. My wife freaked out because she couldn't take a hot shower during the power outage. The water is already hot, hun...

My favorite replies to that were the kid dressed like he either open carried or was already divorced. Or both.

I saw the one that said the kid looked like he was grabbing food for his 2nd wife, but I didn't see the open carry one.
