Broken cheekbone or whatever it may be...I can’t imagine he would miss game 1 of the playoffs. Put a full face shield on and go. Agreed it will be beneficial to get another D or two some playing time over the next 4 games.

Makes sense, especially since they don’t want to screw with the other lines. Both Ceci and Friedman can skate.

Interesting that Zucker is with Malkin. Was almost certain McCann would be there

Last night was one of those strange bounce games. Which led to chasing-the-game type of mistakes.
But what a turd to lose pace for the division.

Not surprised there was a little bit of disengagement through these final 4 meaningless games against junk teams

But these are not meaningless games. They are determining the division winner.
Now, I'm not worried about home ice against the washington hockey team as much as I am against NYI or BOS so meh....

When they said Matheson would be out I assumed it was a busted orbital bone, but for him to be skating already that seems unlikely. Also, inject Tanev’s return straight into my veins.

I didn’t realize Rodrigues was hurt
I’m not upset with Gaudreau in his spot

Gaudreau brings everything that Janko lacks. He wants to be there and to be part of something.

i like friedman as a scott wilson option.
and with a healthy lineup, i'd like to see some competition for those lower spots. i think kuhn/wilson/rust/sheary/rowney all looking to establish themselves at the same time was part of our success in the cup years. a guy like e-rod shouldn't feel comfortable. he needs to be shot out of a canon every shift, because someone else is willing to do that.

Buffalo has a skater playing his first NHL game. How long does it take for him to score?

33 minutes.

I think pens protect Blueger.
mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness
Protecting Blueger means exposing two of McCann, Zucker, and Tanev. I love Blueger, but I don't see that happening. Tanev and McCann are no-brainers (I think); Zucker has a year left at $5.5 million, but this is not a contract, much less a player, you actively get rid of, imo.
