It wasn't my garbage day, so I didn't have to worry about the wind, but last year I made a "garbage can anchor" for windy days. Bought one of those orange Home Depot buckets and lids. Filled it with gravel and put on the lid. Used plastic-coated wire rope to make a cord 5' or so long that loops around the handle of the bucket on one end and has a snap link on the other end, which I attach to my garbage can's handle. I've used it when storms are in the forecast for garbage day, and while the can has blown over, it's never blown away.

This wind is ridiculous.... blew my grill over, whipped the screen door open and broke the auto return unit, blew my neighbor's trailer for his truck into our front yard.
I guarantee you that wind yesterday outperforms the majority of severe storms this summer. Really impressive.

Damn windy out there. I think it's windier now at my house than it was a couple days ago.

Friendly PSA, don't be fooled by the warm weather. Temperatures Thursday to Friday will struggle to get near 40 both days and nighttime lows well below freezing (mid 20s). If you turned on your outdoor spigot to get yard work done, probably want to shut it off until Saturday.

We already have a ton of early season flowers blooming and buds coming out prominently on the trees.

I’m not the biggest fan of living in the northeast US, but the general lack of natural disasters is a huge benefit.

Picked a great day to haul my brother's camper into the shop for an inspection. Although it was a better day than last Friday, which was the original plan

Hands are nice and cold after hitching and unhitching that frosty cold metal.

Hah, the good news is that warmer weather is coming. Saturday will still be cool (not as cold and much less windy), but Sunday through Wednesday all have a good shot of hitting 70. That's the nice thing about this time of year...when the wintry cold shots do come, they don't last.

Second half of April looking to be at or below normal temperature-wise for just about the whole duration. That said, there will be very short stretches of nice warmth (early next week and early the following week).

is it just me or has it been windier for the entire year than it’s been previously? Specifically on the East coast (I’m in Wilmington NC)

I feel like it’s just constant wind. Annoying when trying to bike or shoot a basketball
