And more of them will get killed DUI than from Coronavirus.
But no sweet Federal disaster money from drunk deaths.

As long as I can watch on TV I'll be happy. Though it'll be a little weird but whatever

PSU's chances just went way up due to having played in front of an empty BJC for years.

Feel bad for the guys that already scheduled their vasectomies for Final Four weekend thinking they could lay around watching the games with sacks of ice on their junk.

Tournament's probably going to get canceled on Thursday, Friday at the latest and I'd imagine all American sports will follow suit after the NBA situation came down.

Everyone canceled their tournaments except Big East, who had St John’s and Creighton play a full half before killing the tourney.
Kansas, Duke, and Arizona State have suspended all athletic activities, marking them out if the Tourney proceeds. Can’t imagine they’re gonna wait much longer to cancel it.

Hoiberg tested positive for Influenza.
The "trouble" here is that if one team member gets it, then everybody they've played in the last 10 days and all their teammates should be self quarantined. Then you've got the case of the NBA official last night too. It would wreck the tournament to have multiple teams sitting out because they'd played previously in the conference season or tourney and discovered a player who was ill.
I honestly believe the cancelling of events is more about fairness on the field, than public health.

Incredible finish for PC and despite late swoon hell of a fun year for PSU.
Who knows what tourney would have held. It was wide freakin’ open too.

Yeah he's gutted. It's one thing when you lose and someone beat you on the floor/mat or whatever and you competed. Another for all these kids athletic careers that just ended like that. He'll probably wrestle for the national team and some stuff but without a real pro option an NCAA title is what they grow up dreaming of winning

I see a lot of people pushing for another year of eligibility for the kids affected, but I can't imagine how that would work. It would really throw a wrench into things.

As much as I would like it I don't know how it'd work out. Scholarships ain't cheap. Recruits are coming in that were promised a spot.. some logistics to work outFreddy Rumsen wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 8:16 am I see a lot of people pushing for another year of eligibility for the kids affected, but I can't imagine how that would work. Yeah... I certainly feel for those kids, but this is an extraordinary measure taken for an extraordinary situation. There are going to be "casualties" (for lack of a better word) and not playing a post season for your senior year is toward the bottom of the list of things I'm concerned about.Freddy Rumsen wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 8:16 am I see a lot of people pushing for another year of eligibility for the kids affected, but I can't imagine how that would work. I definitely agree for basketball and wrestling.
Though baseball and softball are different in that their whole seasons were wiped out.
I do not think that there is just a logical way to do it.

Our wrestling coach (a former Pitt wrestler, and one of the few Penguins/Pirates/Steelers fan that I can commiserate with in real life ) took two of our wrestlers out to Sioux Falls for the D2 championships...and then it got cancelled.
Our conference cancelled everything, including non-season practices. One of my former students, a senior RHP, just pitched his last game and his parents couldn't get to the game (as they live out of state, and planned to come later in the season). After sacrificing so much to get him to camps, games, hitting instruction, travel teams since he was ten...they couldn't even see his last game. He was fine with it, but really upset that his parents couldn't watch him one more time.
