There was an episode of Babylon 5 that focused on two low level crew members. Maintenance or such. It was pretty good.

Trek has stolen a lot from B5.

So, as a kid I watched all of TNG and the first couple years of Voyager. Recently, with Netflix, I have gone through the full Voyager series, just finishing last week. For me, that show is probably the best of Star Trek. Jumped right into Enterprise now, and have watched the first 2 episodes. Feels so amateur in comparison. So corny.

I gotta give the #1 to DS9. Voyager got a lot of grief from fans because of Janeway's poor character development and writing. Also, the fact that the relatively weak Voyager was able to take on the Borg, not "A" Borg cube, but "The Borg" and survive was a bit of a stretch give.

DS9 is #1 because the Dominion & Jem’Hadar, and like every series the massively powerful villains end up defeated by humans.

Plus all the character development that came with it. It's awesome how they laid the groundwork for the series from the get-go. Ronald D. Moore should have handled all the shows.

my problem with DS9 was that they just don't go anywhere . For me, that is against the ethos of what makes Trek great. I've seen a few episodes and once they get the ship, I think it gets better. I think I might just pause on Enterprise and give DS9 a rewatch now that I'm older.

Martok, Weyoun, Garak, Worf, O'Brien, Quark, Dax (Farrell), Rom... great characters.

Bonus, not a single appearance of Q!

The Borg were better before First Contact and Voyager. Early TNG Borg were like an unstoppable force of nature.

Garak is amazing.

(Also, Q was in one early episode. And Sisko clocked him. )

I must have blacked out that episode.

Martok and Garak were my favorite characters. Garak the slimy spy. Martok the military man that has seen it all and has nothing to prove so he does and says whatever he wants. When Martok is talking about his wife/marriage, "She "accidentally" left the front door open..."

Damn, now I am going to have to Youtube some Martok.

I do not consider myself a Trekker at all, but I did greatly enjoy TNG and thought DS9 had its moments.

That said, anything that effectively gave birth to Galaxy Quest gets a thumbs up from me.

oh, no Q sounds great to me. Not to get all nerdy but if a character is nearly omnipotent and omniscient then no captain, no matter how cunning is ever going to be able to outsmart him. I really disliked that character.

Wasn't a fan of the idea of Q, but John de Lancie and Patrick Stewart made for some great interactions.

As an atheist, de Lancie's portrayal of Q was sort of how I already envisioned the concept of the Christian god in my head. And I'll leave it at that.

HD remastered battle scene from 'Sacrifice of Angels':

I haven't had the chance to catch the 'What We Left Behind' documentary yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing more DS9 in HD.
