The Stanley Cup is now the most meaningless championship in all of professional sports.

Also just to prove CP wrong all those years ago.

You can win a stanley cup with phil kessel on your team. you can't win a stanley cup with james neal on your team.

yes i just went there. CP, were ever you are , SUCK IT. yes i still hold grudges.

I don't think we choked...
We had the lead twice going into the third period. Mental blunders crapped those games away.
They had the lead in Game 1 and blew it. It happens.

i don't think we chocked, Trotz made a very smart coaching adjustment in the middle of the series (forget which game it was). It didn't completely shut us down but was enough to give the capitals the advantage in the series.

As much as people hate the capitals, you have to give them credit because they kept bouncing back and their guys got over the hump of not winning the big games. (this was the crack against us too until we went on the run 2 years ago) Also i had no problem watching the best goal scorer of his generation win a stanley cup with the team that draft him and he has given everything too.

The whole who is a better play sid or ovie was settle a long time ago. Both are generational talents who leads their teams to a stanley cup but sid will go down as the best player from this generation and its not even close.
Yeah, I mean all things considered....it's an impressive run. I hate them, but there's no denying their worthiness.

Don't be so sure about that, I've stayed away from the other boards that involve fans from other teams - I have no doubt that this cup win will be enough for them to make the statement that Ovie is and always has been better than Sid.

After all, Ovie has a Cup and Sid only has 3.

It is rampant on HF. Best part is before the Cup was a team award so Sid's accomplishments didn't count. Now that Ovi has one and a CS those were his only two knocks so now he is clearly better.

I want the Pens to have to sit there and watch listen to a banner raising ceremony that doesn't involve them. I don't think they really need the extra motivation, but it can't hurt. Plus, I would love to spoil their celebration.

Yeah it'll be weird for him wearing a Capitals jersey but he'll manage.

Coming from a person that was created by a person that believes microwaving fish for lunch at work is okay, not surprising.

He's a great player, and it's good for the game when the great players win.

Internet is saying that Orpik is still a great player. Because he scored a goal.

I can only imagine how many “Ovechkin is now the best” hot takes that have been written in the last 12 hours.

“Good for the game” was an expression with some relevance when we were a non-competitive ugly league. It doesn’t mean anything anymore. The game is fine. We have more money than we need. Selfish takes only, Om.
