Feels bad man. Will Geno be enough to divert this train wreck? Will Crosby learn to play hockey?

Get Malkin and Hornqvist back, use the last 5 games or so to work out the kinks in their game, and get ready to be surprised. This team has gone into the playoffs being the favorite for too long, for once we will be the underdog, should be interesting to see.

I just hope we catch the Isles. Don't want to have to play four games at Nassau. Its small but can get loud

There is nothing left to do but hope for this. I refuse to just give up as a fan. Give us a sports miracle here Pens. Lord knows it will take one...

Like others have said, we've been favored by the experts so many times at this point in the season. Let's make some magic happen

They're in a lot of trouble.

Johnston will likely be gone this summer. If he's not the organization has wasted yet another year of the two (former) best players

I really think HCMJ is part of the solution. I highly doubt he's let go in the summer regardless of any remotely reasonable output...

Yeah I think MJ deserves another year regardless. In any event I'm withholding judgment until June

I don't really like pulling quick triggers. Give JR and MJ a couple years to see what their vision for this team truly is... right now I still see this as RS and DB's team. I know there's been a good bit of turn over, but I want to see what they can do with a full off season and into next year even if it's one and done in the playoffs this year (which I'm fully expecting it to be).

I think you have to sell off one of Crosby, Malkin, or Letang. The window for Crosby and Malkin at least is quickly closing. Find a young stocked team with raw talent and get 3 young players, 2 first round picks, prospects. Pull as much as possible. Transition the team towards the future. The guys that are left have a couple years of dominant play left and can mentor. Then transition into more of a supporting role. Right now it's a race to Indiana Jones through the closing door. That's the wrong mindset IMO. Not the Crosby/Malkin time has passed but it's right on the cusp in a 2-4 years. I'd rather them be able to transition from great to supporting than continue trying to be great in a declining situation.

That's too fantasy GM for me, personally. You have the best player in the league...in the worst year of his career, he's going to win the Art Ross or damn close to it...we aren't sure if we can really draft, we aren't positive we can even develop still...I'd rather go down with the best player or players than scatter their ashes across the lineup and hope it becomes greater than the sum of its parts...

Unless Crosby walks into GMJR's office and goes, "Look Jim, I've been thinking it over...Jim, wake up, come on, this is serious...Jim, I've been thinking it over and I just need a new challenge and a change of scenery..." That's the only way I even consider it...

Plus, if Crosby resumes being a playoff monster under this new management, we'll look back on this at laugh at the notion...that's optimistic maybe, but there's just no real way I would be trading 87, 71 or 58 for virtually anything remotely reasonable...and even some of the unreasonable stuff I would balk at...even if value-wise it made sense, I'd be too chicken **** to pull the trigger...

Obviously it's super fantasy booking. Just looking at how the team seems to be trending.

I think we need to see how the rest of the season pans out. Yes, they are sucking lately, but we all know how the best team is not ensured a successful run in the playoffs.

What would be defined as a success? In my mind it would be making it past the second round.

If you make the playoffs year one of a new coach, go another year. Reassess after that.

If they don't win it's her fault. Make sure she knows that.

I'm just going to leave her there if they lose. I still have another one.
