I was kind of bummed because I have next to zero enthusiasm this year and the first day of the first game used to be a big deal and no one I know seems to be really feeling it. But as the night goes on, I'm getting a bit excited. Some buddies and me are still gonna go out or a few beers in the afternoon, hang out on the deck with a couple cigars and drinks for pregame. But I'm sure that's just the Game 1 adrenaline and it will quickly subside

Yesterday I started to get that "Playoff Feeling". I don't expect much from the Pens but damn it if playoff hockey isn't the best sport in the world.

Man, I didn't realize how inexperienced the current Pens blueline is. Cole, Pouliot, Chorney, Harrington, and Dumoulin have a combined 2 games of NHL playoff experience. They really need Ehrhoff back.

Pens in 7 just because.
While this team has had trouble scoring goals lately, this team will live and die by its defense. If they can manage to slow down the Rags forwards they have a chance to win this series. The Rangers have a lot of smaller forwards...pound them into submission. That and the obvious statement that Fleury must outplay Lundqvist. If that happens they will take down the defending East champion. I think Winnik and Cole play critical roles in this team surviving round 1.

so zero votes each for Pens in 4 or Rangers in 7. While the former is improbable, the latter certainly could be. *Should note that if Letang were possible, the tables shift in my head in the Pens direction. I can see why the experts are picking the Rags. But these two teams aren't as far apart as people would think, and it was around the point of the late season struggles that the Rangers finally passed the Pens in the standings.

I went with Pens in 6. Which I guess means I expect the Pens to have won a game in NY and held both games 3 and 4 at home. But probably 55% chance the Rangers win the series.

Right now the Pens are +185 to win the series on 5dimes

I kind of like this. For the first time since 09, the pressure is off. No one expects us to do anything. I really hope Sid and Geno realize this and just start playing hockey again. They're the best two players in this series, bar none. If we're going to win, it'll be on their backs.

Well the good news is that we have spent the last 2 months using a lot of energy to make every goalie look like Lundqvist and we don't have to do that now.

Max Lapierre first one on and first one off the ice for the pens optional practice today according to the 33 people that cover the morning skates. Not sure if that'll effect your betting one way or the other MIMH
