John Gillies out for 6 months with hip surgery. I'm no doctor, but I think this is the same surgey Rinne underwent.

I've developed a little bit of a man crush on Craig Anderson this year. No idea why. Can't explain it. Not ashamed of it.

Didn't realize how low in the standings Tampa is
Hockey Randomness
Yeah, I only look at the standings 2-3 times a year these days (aside from when they happen to get flashed on the screen during a game).Didn't realize how low in the standings Tampa is

Tampa has, for some reason, just lost so much creativity...they were a revelation last year, the angles they attacked from and passed into/from, they had crosses, picks, double swings, they had all kinds of stuff from the Soviet elements of the game...this year...I don't know, it's just different...tough to describe...

They had 2 centers playing at an elite level too.

Same here. I am, however, happy with where the Pens stand currently, given how the season started.Didn't realize how low in the standings Tampa is

You think so? There is definitely some potential there. He's a big boy, so he might have to learn to play in the frame still. I haven't seen him play in a season or two, so I can't really speak about his development.

I'm not sure if he speaks fluent English still...
Hockey Randomness
Pffft.
So long as he has little to no experience coaching, we're good.

I don't like Semin. He's very low energy.

Could you imagine if an NFL ref dropped two f-bombs on a broadcast? I guess you can get away with that kind of thing when nobody is watching your product.

Ha ha, that's funny.

I wish referees were totally objective observers of the game and called every infraction they saw. When officials become emotionally invested in the game and the players, that's when they control the game instead of monitoring it.
