This was me watching OT 1. I feel like in playoff overtime the "simplify" approach is needed. Players are more tired so there's more likely for there to be a breakdown covering for a rebound, etc. So many times Dallas could've elected for a pass off the pads or another rebound opportunity and they just gave it away.

I've always felt like the best play in OT is just get the puck towards the net and see what happens. I even texted a friend during the OT asking what part of 'shoot the puck' the Stars didn't seem to understand.

Given that the Stars had lost 6 straight Game 1's, last night had to keep up the trend.

Yeah, like, you can't protect the puck by just leaning your head over your knees. For me, Kulikov has a majority of contact through the body, there isn't an upward and intentional force towards the head, I think he's committed to the hit in the ordinary course of play, expecting that player to actually hold on to the puck...

You want penalize guys that are really trying to hurt people. You want to penalize the vicious. That hit doesn't qualify for me.

Now...in 10 years, maybe we went even further...and this hit is an auto major...I understand. But we have flying elbows going unchecked still, so we're not in this pristine, sterile environment...that's a minor for me.
