Say goodbye to the PGA in Kentucky, I guess
Assuming the "2nd degree assault" is because, per reports, the idiot cop jumped onto his car to try and stop him.

lol... Dude has had a hell of few months. Wins the masters, has a kid, dunks an eagle on #1 of the PGA Championship, gets arrested.

On the plus side, it's probably a good thing when people see some real life consequences of officers acting completely insane.

So what more is going to come out about this? Did Scheffler do something that hasn’t been reported yet or did the cops just really over-react? Track record suggests the latter, but it’ll be interesting to see what else comes out.

He drove around a barrier and didn't immediately stop when they yelled at him.So what more is going to come out about this? Yes, I know the story… I’m just wondering if there’s more to it considering the charges.

It's probably a bit of entitlement mixed with overreaction. If he had time to go to **** jail and still make his tee time he probably could've waited for traffic to clear.
Unless I'm misunderstanding the timeline, I don't know why the event was delayed.

My guess is he thought the barricade was for traffic flow to the course and not for an accident. Normally as a participant, you get to bypass those kind of directions, so my guess is he went around the barricade and when he got yelled at he just figured the cop didn't see his "participant" placard and didn't figure the cop would go apeshit and jump on his car. Most of the time when that happens the cop just cusses you under their breath and you go on with life.

Per my understanding, the story is that the cops are morons and nothing more than that. They were letting all of the player's cars (which are marked with PGA placards) around the accident site and into the course but stopped him as he was following the flow of player traffic into the course.

"entitlement" is a weird way to put it. Yeah, he was entitled to drive through to the club for the golf event, as the main attraction for the event.
There is some initial deference to the police here by the tour and the announcers. but I would imagine we'll see lots of public apologies from the police department and the city for this moron over reaction by the officer(s) at the scene

The cop jumped on his car to get him to stop and tried to cuff himself to it, per reports. Cop logic says that's assault

Upon being released on bail, Scheffler was reported to say, "So I guess a police escort back to the course is out of the question?" /s

I assume he’d normally get there several hours (maybe 3-4) before his tee time. Cbears hypothesis makes sense. It's probably a bit of entitlement mixed with overreaction. If he had time to go to **** jail and still make his tee time he probably could've waited for traffic to clear.

If this were a professional football player pushing past police barricades through an automobile accident site I think the word entitlement would immediately come to mind. Whether the cop was acting outrageously or not the player tried to drive away with the cop attached to the car. Come on, man."entitlement" is a weird way to put it. Yeah, he was entitled to drive through to the club for the golf event, as the main attraction for the event.

Why was he the only player this happened to? What did he do differently?
I'm on Scheffler's side here, only writing this post to explain why I said he may be slightly culpable for escalating the situation.

Police in this country are such drama queens.

Maybe the shifts changed and Scheffler was the first guy to drive past the cop who couldn't read.

“Dragged him to the ground with his car”?

He drives a 2012 GMC Yukon versus everyone else driving Range Rovers probably
