Moose Jaw and Yager win the WHL championship.
Yager with 11 and 16 in 29 games. Pretty good
20 games, not 29.

The Hockey News - May 18, 1984 -
Beginning at 3 p.m. (EDT), CBC’s sports magazine show, SportsWeekend, will carry at least two hours of live draft coverage. The other hour of the show will be filled by coverage of the Belmont Stakes, horseracing’s final leg of the Triple Crown, interspersed with live updates from the Montreal Forum, site of the draft.

“We expect to be going into about 800,000 Canadian households, which is great,” says Ryan. “This is something very special. It’s the first time a professional sport has had something of this nature live on an over-the-air network.”

Both the National Football League and National Basketball Association have their drafts televised live, but they are on ESPN, the all-sports cable channel in the United States.

The CBC telecast will be beamed to a satellite, which will allow regional cable outlets in the United States to pick it up. So, at this point, it isn’t known which areas of the U.S. may get coverage.

“I understand the Penguins (who have three picks in the first round, including No. 1 overall) have set something up in Pittsburgh,” says Joel Nixon, NHL vicepresident, broadcasting. “I think they’re planning on getting their season ticket subscribers together and showing the draft. Beyond that, I can’t really say who will see it and who won’t. It’s basically up to the individual clubs.”
Article about the first time an NHL Draft will be on TV and I saw this tidbit about Pittsburgh in there. Anyone experienced enough to have any recollection of that...? @faftorial ?

I don't. I was off at college with no TV and didn't read newspapers at the time.

Last I saw, he's a bigger LHS d-man, good shot, not a very good skater. Got a couple NHL games last year, he's a late 1999. Maple Leafs 5th round pick, so Dubas just re-acquiring guy that he liked. Which I'm good with...

Speaking of (from the previous regime)...

We also signed Jack St. Ivany to a three year extension at league minimum...JSI gave us our only point from an entry level contract last season...

The anti-Dubites want you to know Kral is a former Maple Leaf. Because they won't shut the **** up about it.

Kral was 4th among d-men scoring in Liiga last year, and led in plus/minus at +28. I'll see if I can find a game later tonight...
