I like that it's 100 years BBY so at least we won't get young Qui Gon or something equally as dumb. Oh dang Yoda is definitely gonna show up though isn't he?

Wait a tick... How are there Sith in this if it's only 100 BBY?

The Honda Center tix are like $100 on top of the D23 admission, minimum. Ugh

Fun fact: Legends inductee Steve Ditko was a Yinzer, born and raised in Johnstown.

Looks good. Is there an order of what to watch for these shows? I'm pretty far behind, and honestly don't even know when I plan on getting back into the SW shows.

I'd probably go with release order (by season). I'd also probably skip Boba Fett (except for the two Mandalorian episodes) and Kenobi.

This scene is sort of the story purpose of the show.

"It's about power and who is allowed to use it."

The Red Blades aren't 'Sith', they are the precursor Dark Side users - presumably Jedi amongst them - that allowed the Sith to grow (and infiltrate the Senate) without the Jedi Order being aware.

I'm doing a chronological re-watch of just the films and I'm currently about halfway through ROTS. It occurred to me that Darth Plagueis the Wise could be included in The Acolyte.

That has been some common speculation. If it is him, he'd only be a teenager.... it would make more (timeline) sense if it was his master, but I think Darth P's master was a non-human, the teaser focuses on a human hand, and the dark character over the pool of water looks humanoid. So I don't know what's what.

There are a small number of characters who are known to be around at this point in time (Yoda & Yaddle, Maz Kanata, Chewbacca (the teaser shows a Wookiee and what appears to be Kashyyyk), Jabba, Huyang (lightsaber droid) and the Ones (both of which might tie into what's going on w Ahsoka), a few others). Remember: You don't have to be a Sith to bleed a Kyber crystal and make a red blade lightsaber (Kylo Ren wasn't Sith, for example). But if we do see Sith in this story, I wouldn't put too much weight in the Council scene you shared the other day where Ki-Adi-Mundi is like "Oooh, the Sith have been extinct for like a really really long time, oooooooh", meanwhile at that exact instant there were in fact two Sith running around, one of whom was about to become Chancellor of the Republic. There were like a dozen master-apprentice Sith pairs* during the period of time the Council thought them extinct.

This is the first live-action SW set outside the Skywalker Saga timeline. Let's meet some new folks.

* The Rule of Two is stupid. It makes sense in that there must always be a master and an apprentice, but it is silly that there is only a master and an apprentice.

After finishing ROTS, I went right into Solo. That movie gets a bad rap. It’s fun, it’s silly, it has solid action. There are some eye roll moments for sure but it’s a fast and fun 2 hours. If it came out a few years later, it would’ve been a 6 hour Disney+ show…

Joonas Suotamo is in the cast of the Acolyte. I suppose he could be playing a random Wookie though.

I thought Solo was fine. No harm no foul kind of thing. Given how badly managed the production was, that any of it ended up watchable is kind of amazing. The scene where Han and Chewie meet teeters on the edge of too silly for its own good.

But I think the tech that was developed for the movie was the spine of what became Stagecraft and the 'sim' parts of Rise Of The Resistance and Smuggler's Run at the parks.
