5 v 3s are the most of our worries, apparently

You could scratch Carter, nieto or Acciari. Or all three. They have a combined zero points.

For over a year Carter has been dragging down every line he plays on. I’d be content scratching him and putting anyone out there before I blame the other two (although Acciari has also looked like ****).Acciari 8 shots on goal
Nieto 6 shots on goal
Carter 6 shots on goal
ALL SEASON. 9 GAMES.
But Sullivan seems to be afraid or downright refuses to scratch Carter

They kept it simple with Tarnstrom and Jackman firing bombs while Bugsy cleaned up the garbage. It was very effective.I’m still processing this, but I agree that shot selection won’t matter if the opposing goalie can clearly see everything coming his way.Yes. Poor shot selection is what leads to them not finishing their chances. That's not a good 5 on 3. Got to have better shot selection than that
Bottom 6 scores the go ahead goal, and your stars yak up the lead then blow it... WHILE ON A TWO MAN ADVANTAGE
A 2-man advantage…the X Generation wouldn’t have screwed that up.

as soon as the Pens were awarded that 5 on 3 I hear my wife call down from upstairs, "short handed goal. no wait, short handed goal when the first guy comes out of the box!"
also, is it just me or does Jarry suck on breakaways? I can't remember the last one he stopped in a gotta-have-it situation.

Not to excuse Jarry, but I thought Brett Leason had gotten lose near the net right before our power play - maybe not a breakaway - but a semi break from a guy with an absolute bomb...
Either way, it's incredible that Vatrano and McTavish are just hitting these shots in their only scoring chances basically...right under the bar, no sweat. Meanwhile, we get a goal once every six 'A' chances it feels like...
I wish Sullivan would score more goals...

There's definitely not a lack of shooter tutors at the practice rink...
