Too many scoring chances that weren't buried.
Then their goaltending collapsed.
This has been a theme ever since their hot streak a few months ago.

This **** is becoming not fun to watch. It's depressing...and I only watch half hearted as it is currently.

I'd rather watch Trump get peed on than this garbage.

Hextall had a core of players here for him. They are playing their best year as a group in a long time. And he surrounded them with pure ****.

Ok, not a dingus. Her response was 'good question'.Your Blackhawls friend is a dingus.

He added Rackell for a bag of pucks, and got all the guys re-signed.Hextall had a core of players here for him. They are playing their best year as a group in a long time. And he surrounded them with pure ****.
But the **** show that's been our goaltending the past few seasons is unacceptable.

This team should be deadline sellers. Nobody can be added to make this team a contender.
Zucker would have nice value. Bring in a young NHLer or two from somebody. No picks. Somebody that can help now. It’s a shame because this team needs 3 more Zucker’s but he’s an expiring contract. Somebody would love to add him. Dumo…eh maybe you get something.
Will we sell? No. But it makes a lot more sense right now than buying.
Shocked that Hextall doesn’t realize his job is on the line (like Dubas in Toronto) and hasn’t made an addition yet.

He resigned the core because they wanted to sign here. He lowballed Geno and needed Crosby and letang to beg him to stay.He added Rackell for a bag of pucks, and got all the guys re-signed.Hextall had a core of players here for him. But the **** show that's been out goaltending the past few seasons is unacceptable.
He created the worst third line in the league. He put us at the cap where we can’t even **** bring up someone from the AHL. He took on more salary for Petry which isn’t working out. And the goaltending situation is ****

We're a point out with 4 games in hand. With 26 games left. Tonight sucked, but I wouldn't call them dead yet

Not that ten minutes after a loss is time for rational talk

"I like our team on paper"
Hextall is a video game GM. As long as the player overalls are higher than 80, he thinks it's fine and won't change anything because "it should work".
Guy's a moron and has no actionable plan for this team.

That’s where I’m at but this game was actually exciting. It had all the ingredients that made me love hockey as a kid. Goals, saves, physicality, emotion, animosity. Most penguin games look like soccer matches with no emotion, little excitement. If they were all like this I’d be happy. This **** is becoming not fun to watch. It's depressing...and I only watch half hearted as it is currently.
Also weird to watch when you can’t really celebrate a goal because you’re expecting the other team to respond within seconds/minutes.

Zucker is the perfect deadline acquisition for a team looking for a deep run. This team should be deadline sellers. Nobody can be added to make this team a contender.

Yes, it does.This sucks
Our boys have the next 72 hours on the outside looking in the playoff picture. Not a good time of year for it, either.

It’s crazy how I watch this team and I’m thinking “Crosby, Geno, letang, Rackell, Guentzel are just playing awesome”
But we still just continue to lose because everyone else is complete trash

Like it or not the guy that just extended Sid, Letang and Malkin, and signed Rakell isn't going to be selling

Don't forget making a bad judgment on a young defenseman who had a bad year and trading him for a younger defenseman who can't even sniff the NHL club.He resigned the core because they wanted to sign here. He lowballed Geno and needed Crosby and letang to beg him to stay.He added Rackell for a bag of pucks, and got all the guys re-signed.Hextall had a core of players here for him. We don’t need to sell. Draft picks at this point with the core means little. We need a GM that will move all this dead weight and just create a good third line…which like Mikey said, can’t happen until the off-seasonLike it or not the guy that just extended Sid, Letang and Malkin, and signed Rakell isn't going to be selling
GDT #56: Pens vs Isles
I'm not defending Hextall. I think he should be fired for the goaltending situation alone. That, to me, is the main issue. The situation with the third line is just insult to injury at this point.

The last 3 games sucked to be fair. We're a point out with 4 games in hand. With 26 games left. Tonight sucked, but I wouldn't call them dead yet
Games in hand mean zilch when you lose all of them.
GDT #56: Pens vs Isles
Being dead or alive doesn’t have anything to do with the overall analysis. We're a point out with 4 games in hand. With 26 games left. Tonight sucked, but I wouldn't call them dead yet
The team is Average, at best. So making the playoffs or missing the playoffs…what does it really matter in the grand scheme? We’ve been watching this team since October and it’s the same story every night. They can’t beat good teams. Bad goaltending. Bad special teams. Awful bottom 6. Without looking at the standings the team just doesn’t look like it has the physical or mental makeup of a team good enough to win a playoff round (let alone make a deep run).
