Why wouldn’t they add McDavid/Gretzky?

Well, then they wouldn't have room for Kariya and Zegras...
I don't know, I might just go the other way and dump the 66/87 combo and make it a little more fair. Assuming their reasoning was 99/97 makes it unfair...which is easy to argue...

Should've done something like Huberdeau/Barkov and Bure, or Matthews and Gilmour.

Ryan Miller slowly transforming into Trevor from GTA V

I feel like I’m not supposed to like Miller but I can’t remember why.

I got annoyed with Miller wearing the Garth Snow shoulder pads towards the end of his career but I can't recall ever hating him.

IIRC he became a bit of a whiner/diver after the Lucic incident and that rubbed people the wrong way.

ohhh this one is going to be interesting.

I'd say Bring Him Home but we don't have the assets

Yea, I'm a big Gibson fan - but that's not happening, especially with Jarry here. I bet he ends up in EDM if Smith retires, since Koskinen already bailed.

Toronto tried earlier this year to pry him out of there and couldn't make it happen...I'm sure they'll go back down that road again. Gibson's been out there for a little bit, quietly...might really happen this summer though, we'll see...

I have concerns about Gibson’s ability to stay healthy with a contending team. He runs into a groin problems frequently

That's a goalie who is always flexin somethin after a net-mouth scramble, eh?

I really believe Gibson just grew tired of Anaheim. Pretty tough to either be the guy that has to carry the load for 82 games, mentally or physically I'd imagine.

That contact with the NYR still looks horrible.

who from this Lightning team ends up in the Hall?
Stamkos, Vas, Kuch…Hedman?
I’m not really counting Perry since he wasn’t on the previous teams and is an old fart now (not sure about his HoF chances either)
the reason I thought of this was because if they end up winning the championship this will be a legendary run but it doesn’t feel like this is a legendary roster. Maybe that’s because it’s happening in the moment in 20 years from now it’ll have been elevated to legendary status

Yes to the four you named or at least there's a good pace there. Hedman isn't a question, if that was the intent of that question mark.
Perry is a no, but at least we have to look. He's been to three straight Finals with three different teams. It's really all on playoff rep though. It's a fairly weak Hart and surrounded by little else. Perry might be just Super Claude Lemieux. And maybe that "super" part is enough...he's been an effective playoff player. He's very savvy. I don't know, it's a "no" for me...but I could see it.
Too early to tell where Point might go...
Ryan McDonagh isn't gonna make it, but man, team success really follows him around. And leaving NY so that he can just focus on defense may have extended his career...it's a long shot now, but maybe this is like a Bill Quackenbush type of deal where in 25 years, someone on his side will make a play...kinda like what I said with Ryan Suter...
And I think this is an incredible roster, it's being managed really well by two different GMs (say what you want, but these Cups and runs still should be credited, in part, to Yzerman), Jon Cooper seems to win a lot of cases...

All 4 are a slam dunk imo. Stamkos and Hedman could retire tomorrow and get in. The other 2 just need to play a few more years
