mostly think these guys, with a few exceptions (schieffle being one), aren't as good as they're made out to be is all. doesn't mean they're not good. just that the praise they receive is more akin to pierre's use of the superlative.I don't think I'd really come down all that hard on Laine. I'm sure that teams have been catering their defensive needs to shade him whenever he's on the ice because they know the type of talent he possesses. If you feel Laine is overrated by his performance thus far, what does that make Scheifle in your eyes? I'd imagine that a lot of the looks he has been getting is because of the defense's attention on Laine. Plus, I don't think Laine and Guentzel are similar in their type of play. Guentzel's a grinder and gets garbage goals and from what I've seen of Laine, he's more of a perimeter guy like Ovechkin.

That might be a combination of it being Canada's last chance and they want to prop them up as much as possible and there's also the lack of familiarity with Winnipeg as a whole. If anyone paid any attention to them during the year, they knew they were a good team and certainly capable of getting this far but because it's little ole Winnipeg, everyone's like OMG, they're the best ever. That's what us media is supposed to do!

Jets look serious this period.

The problem isn't the Knights intro, it's NBC indulging them. Start your 15 minute show at 8:45, start the broadcast at 9:00, drop the puck at 9:08. Easy.
NBC is the villian, always.

Maybe the media is like that, maybe...but most fans of Canadian teams don't want Winnipeg to win in reality...
That said, I think this group is underrated...love Scheif, Wheels (who I think can play any position on the ice...any of them), Laine might have the league's best shot, Ehlers is a future semi-star, Connor is going to be a terrific player - he's probably going to be my Brayden Point of this year - some guy I take in the 6th round of every fantasy draft and let people just laugh at me...Armia plays on like the 9th line here, he's a 3rd liner in two-thirds of the league, Copp and Lowry are luxury fourth liners...Little is their 3C, he's a 2C for half the teams probably...Perreault is on the third line...he's a top-6 forward for a lot of teams...
Enstrom-Buff
Morrissey-Trouba
Chiarot-Myers
That's five top-4 d-men...Kulikov is hurt, or else that's six...
Then you have young Hellebucyk backed up by Steve Mason...
I mean, if there's a deeper team in the league, I'd love to see them...

Vegas just barely hanging on to the lead. Seems like just a matter of time till Jets score.

More timely goaltending from Fleury, first star of the game. This really does feel like a 7 game series...hope it pans out.

I've been on the Vegas bandwagon for months but I did have a comforting feeling of what might happen if the final ends up being Jets v Caps - Big Buff giving Wilson the (many) shots that he so richly deserves.

they do those player polls at the end of the year on those things like, "who is the toughest to play against". they don't always publish the full results, but fleury has been voted, "who would you go gay for" 3 years running.Fleury is quite possibly the only human being who deserves dogs.
