If I'm in charge at TNT, I'd hire O'Toole immediately. For his co-host, I'd go with Renee Paquette. She's really good at her job, is enthusiastic, loves hockey, and has already expressed interest in the gig. As for ex-players/analysts, Kevin Weekes was mentioned and he's an obvious addition here. Bettman has already said the NHL Network may be changing (or even disappearing) given these new deals so why not move the only positive about NHL Network over to TNT? I don't know what Ray Ferraro is up to but he's my favorite "between the benches" guy. Get him involved.

Ference is a weird guy...doesn't really seem like a TV personality...

I feel like I'd be more likely to see him doing something on the old Outdoor Life Network than an NHL circuit...his signature is like the Japanese symbol for coffee cake or some ****...

I guess it'll still be around but who knows how it'll be used. Also who knows whether it'll be a streaming channel or broadcast.

I like On The Fly, but they need to pick up the pace. I can't sit around for 35 minutes waiting to get to the Pens highlights.

Why not just watch highlights on the NHL app? Every game has a 4-6 minute highlight package with the original broadcast audio.

Why not just speed up On The Fly? ESPN showed everyone how to do this decades ago.

I like hearing the original broadcast audio and getting to pick and choose which highlights I watch.

The original NHL Network highlights show was the best. Original broadcast audio, every single goal, great plays/saves, big hits, sometimes fights, no talking, no hosts, no nothing...

It has been on the slide ever since...

:thumb: The NHL app is still like this. If I miss a Pens game, I'll watch the extended highlights which are great too.

the NHL Network highlight show, in its infancy, just rolled the game audio, showed every goal and left the commentary for after the footage.

it was god damned xanadu and i hate the voiceovers and limited highlights. hate hate.

i guess the premise is that people like me should just go watch the online highlights, but the best combination is full, unadulterated highlights followed by the commentary.

KHL finals series
Omsk vs. CSKA Moscow 4:2

Ilya Kovalchuk with the Cup
Simon Hrubec (Omsk) finished the series with back-to-back shutouts (he originally joined from the Chinese KHL team to fight for the back-up goalie position)

10 points in 7 games for Sam Bennett. Pretty good for a guy that isn't a center.
