That's playoff hockey

What annoys me is that if he had snapped his tib/fib in both legs, laid on the ice writhing in pain for 5 minutes, and then had to be stretchered off the ice the offender would've been suspended for the rest of the playoffs. The NHL having outcome dicate the penalty when the intent is the same is so bad.

The cross check was dirty but why would people seemingly *want* good players suspended for games?
Hockey Randomness
Because blatant intent to injure should be punished with a suspension regardless of the player.
Hockey Randomness
Is that a serious question

That's basically two games in the playoffs (he got tossed first shift or thereabouts), which is 4-6 regular season games. I think that's pretty on point...

The Clifford play was nowhere close to as bad as the Spurgeon play

Dynamo Moscow is apparently on the verge of bankruptcy, and so they sent their 3 best players (Vadim Shipachov, Slava Voynov, Stanislav Galiev) to Kazan for a total of ...... RUB 1,000 (i.e. slightly over $10).
The sum of their salaries is apparently RUB 215 M.
In related news - both Swedish and Finnish hockey federations announced that players who intend to play in Russia next year will not be invited to play for their National Teams. Sweden went even further - Swedish players who played in the KHL play-offs THIS year will not be invited to play at the World Championship.
Russia, meanwhile, has been expelled from all international competitions. Their organizing of WC 2023 (St. Petersburg) has been taken away from them.
So, these days their NT plays a series of games against Belarus (also expelled from all competitions).
