I really want to know which players knew on the Blackhawks and did nothing about it. It was speculated Keith was one of the guys. Those players shouldn't be allowed to get away from this, imo.

Toews can skirt around the issue, but he 100% had to have known about it. The fact that he won't own up at all (and even tried to throw shade at the victim in his answer) says a lot.

He was the captain. He likely knew about this. He let his guys bully a player who was sexually assaulted (at least, per the testimony above).

Seems like a dereliction of duties as a team captain to allow that to occur.

I think your missing the point of a captain here. The C let’s him talk to the guys with the orange bands and that’s about the end of it. He has little to no additional duties beyond that when it comes to uncommon occurrences like this.

Nah if you see a teammate being harassed by one or more teammates you need to step in. And if you don't see it the harassed player should feel comfortable approaching you about the issue.

Is this based on any real events are we double speculating...? 1/2 x 1/2 isn't 1...it's 1/4...

I think there's enough information out there that both points to most of the team knowing about it, and also this recent story about the player being harassed and bullied at practice.

As two players who are touted for their "leadership", it's disappointing to hear that nothing was done about it, and then they have the gall to say outright to the media "We didn't know anything about this".

Yeah... I don’t see how you can be touted as the next coming of Messier/Yzerman in leadership and ignore this ****. I also have personal bias against Toews because of all the head-bobbing done during his career in the same way I did Mine Richards. They were both good players but weren’t great and I guess it was more a directive from the NHL/NBC to build players somehow.

It’s like Wes Welker and Julien Edelman. They couldn’t just be good talented players. They had to be “gym rats” and “film junkies.” I dunno, I’m just and old man now.

Either way **** Toews given this info.

I was speculating based on the John Doe's lawyer saying that players knew about it, and harassed the John Doe about it. To me, it's more of a, well how did the prominent players in the locker room not know about it type speculation. They may or may not know, but I hope they're found out.
