Scuderi back to LA...? May be Justin Schultz retained...thought the Kings were searching for another RHS...
Trade Deadline 2016
Just give him a right handed stick. I dont think it will affect his game at all.

Scuderi for Ehrhoff?
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Sounds like Christian Ehrhoff will be moving from LA to CHI. Not an official trade but likely to occur.

I still don't know how the Pens were able to trade Scuderi for a useable player. It boggles the mind. The Blackhawks aren't run by morons, either.

Twice now. Even though Ehrhoff cleared waivers, my expectation is that he plays regularly and well for Chicago...and that's with that extra year. Probably promised to retire or something...
Trade Deadline 2016
Still not sure why the Pens passed on Ehrhoff. Oh well.

I just saw that latest Hawks trade too. Is that a ridiculously low price to pay for two serviceable top-9 forwards, or am I missing something? From what I could dig up in a minute or two of googling, Danault doesn't look like anything special, and a 2nd-rounder two years from now isn't anything to write home about.

Chicago really puts the Penguins non dynasty into perspective.
Trade Deadline 2016
I have no idea how they are able to afford this.
Guess it helps that Cheveldayoff and Bergevin are both former Asst. GMs of the Hawks.

I believe Montreal also retained salary on Weise.
Trade Deadline 2016
It boggles my mind that not one, but two teams thought it was a good idea to trade for Scuderi this year. And it boggle my mind that GMJR was able to get Daley for Scuderi.
Trade Deadline 2016
Does it boggle your mind more that both of those teams have been consistently better than the penguins?

I'm half kidding. OTOH, I'm 100% sick of the $%#*@! Chicago Blackhawks.
Trade Deadline 2016
To be fair, they traded not much at all for not much really.

You know it's a major trade when 2018 picks are involved.

That's a little light I feel like...i'm not Hudler's biggest fan as he is just about the worst skating top six forward in the NHL...but still, surprised they couldn't get a little better, not much, but a little...

Is there a limit to how far out you can trade your trade picks? I thought it was only two years, but with all of these 2018 picks flying, I'm beginning to wonder what the rule is.

Well, considering you can give four 1st round picks for an offer sheet, you know it's at least that far. I believe a 1993 1st was included in the Gretzky trade from 8/9/88.
I don't think there's any limit, but at the same time, picks decrease in value the further out they are...plus, at 5 and 6 years out, how do you know you'll still be employed to use them...?
