407 regular season games, 66 playoff games...
Not sure that's how I remember him his last few games here.

Not concerned.

Nah, there's a whole plan to move the arena to where it belongs in Arizona...not against the flow of all things (traffic, population center, season ticket holders)...

Horny fits in well with an overachieving regular season try-hard with no actual chance at winning anything meaningful. A callback to his time on Trotz’s Preds.

Way to go, Panthers.

Cup winner in 2016, final goal in 2017, right...?

2015 to 2020 playoffs Penguins goals:
1. Crosby 27
2. Guentzel 25
3. Hornqvist 22

He's a guy that can really put you over the top, while also being a player that is a regular season hardo...

It’s a dig on Florida- not Horny. He has the same degree of utility at all times.

It just fits in extra well in FLA

Two things that will never get old: hockey players posting pictures of themselves eating something gross out of the Stanley Cup and sarcasm.

Yeah, Horny was clearly a great player last season and will perhaps be this as well. I was a huge proponent of trading him one season too early instead of too soon. But he might actually be worth his contract until it ends in two seasons :O I thought he would useless 22-23.

I like that he used the national team photo instead of the Rangers.

Handsomeness goes a long way. He’s a cold fish with no discernible likability beyond his hair. But it’s somehow a big deal that he never won a cup - like most goalies don’t.

If he was an uggo, no one would care about his fate.

Yeah. I am not sure who else I would have liked to have as my franchise goalie during approximately that time (without taking the cap hit into account)

Seldom the very best, but one of the best for a long time...

Sorry…small thing and I left it ambiguous again.

Reddit and other think tanks have long had a “poor henrik” love affair with the guy and lament his lack of cups. But I never found him to be a person to root for - despite his abilities.

Boring and too often a temperamental baby. Not a likable player, imo, which diminishes the news of his retirement. Imo.

Imo.

I think part of the "poor Henrik" thing is the teams that he played for and, more specifically, how little they could score for him...

His playoff goal-support:
0.99
2.74
2.67
1.60
1.40
1.97
2.08
2.38
2.29
2.29
2.48
1.50

Just for reference, here is Fleury's...
1.99
2.70
3.09
2.93
1.76
4.37
3.64
2.52
1.55
2.97
2.87
2.54
3.38
3.43
2.77

##

Over 2.5 goal support per game:
Lundqvist: 2 out of 12
Fleury: 12 out of 15

Fleury has a 90-70 record; Lundqvist 61-67.

I don't think a lot of it comes from him playing guitar with John McEnroe...it might be...but I think it might be that hockey people saw him try to keep his teams alive with Marc Staal and Dan Girardi ringing it around the glass to Derek Stepan throughout his prime...

I think those rangers teams were just so insufferable, which doesn’t help. They represent the peak of the post-lockout dark ages, before the new surge of talent came in.
