Nothing matters, I guess. It’s not like the caps are the most indecent franchise in the league or anything, and that any time we have direct interaction with that team, it involves intentional attempts at head trauma for competitive gain.

Caps trying to clear cap space by putting $2.5M Kempny on waivers. hurt last year, but useage wise he would parallel Pens usage of Pettersson.

Early-career ovechkin was a dirty shitheel. The atonement came with them losing spectacularly every year. ‘18 happened and the atonement got washed out. So he’s back in the red for me, overall.

Kempny used to be a good player. Three straight horrific left leg injuries has put him in the meat grinder...

Kempny used to be a good player. Three straight horrific left leg injuries has put him in the meat grinder...

Kempny was a max of a 3rd pair guy, but got 2nd pair a lot in DC. He didn't do anything poorly, but he did nothing above average (for an NHLer). Not great on the offensive side; better but not great on the defensive side; not physical at all (ie: couldn't clear his throat much less the crease); just meh overall. On most rosters he maxed as a 5-7 type. I say that they used him like Pettersson, but he was more on a level just above Ruhwedel/Riikola.
