That Evander Kane story is not shocking at all. Dude blew through his fortune like a tool, probably went into heavy debt, and was desperate enough to make a deal with the devil. Tale as old as time.

According to Capfriendly, which charts hockey salaries, he has made just under $56 million US during his NHL career.
I can't fathom how much money that is, let alone blowing through it. I mean even if you say "OK, I'm going to use 80% of this on gambling and set the rest aside...." Jesus.

I mean, neither did Pete Rose... didn't stop him from getting a lifetime ban.

It led me here. All I have to say is “wow.” Also, this is the first time seeing Sophie and she seems kinda... annoying.

I feel for his wife, but his gambling addictions and infidelities were well known before she married him. Plant/grow. He just spent all the money before she could cash in with divorce.

While cheating on your spouse is pathetic... she does seem to be doing a bit more of what you are suggesting than legitimately abandoned. Hell hath not fury like a woman scorned (for Sega).

Flower confirms he will play for Chicago this season. Wrong move, IMO, but no shock he does the right thing and meow thinks he should do the scumbag thing.

Man agrees to contractual obligations to make 7 million USD despite being forced to work for a garbage organization that he didn't originally agree to the contract with. More at 11.

Fleury’s age means he has to do this. There’s no paradise here. He retires or gets shipped around every so often.

Chicago isn't exactly the place you should end up if you inappropriately touched a person

What a pro. Whatever you want to say about him there’s no denying he’s a pro’s pro and handles himself in that manner

It’s one season. Might be able to work through it without uprooting. After they can either work a deal to play here or ride off into the sunset.

In a city that’s worth living in…with fans eager to chant your name while you play a game, on a team with virtually zero pressure to win

Terrible way to spend your late 30’s before being able to retire on a private island with your 3 cup rings.

Haters gonna hate I guess. Not like an athlete ever whined or pissed and moaned about their situation while making millions before.
