Yeti is lame.

Not only did the Avalanche already have a yeti mascot, but yetis have nothing to do with North America.

Edit: Unless we're talking about coolers...

names and mascots are tricky these days. Vegas proved that you can't use something that someone else has already used, at least not without paying them some money.
you also can't have any name/mascot that could even possibly offend anyone anywhere but yet the name has to have some deep significance to the area that it's representing or at least a good story that you can make up.

I'd give it a day and a half...

Keefe's a real forward thinker...I'd welcome him as an assistant or associate coach...

Do you bring him in to replace Reirden, throw him in WBS and tell him it's his at the halfway point? Gotta figure he will probably not go for an AHL job

I do not envy anyone who gets the Toronto job. The whole thing just seems incredibly toxic between the fans, ownership, upper management (since Shanahan appears to be an extension of the owners), the media... I don't know how you fix it with so much external pressure and influence bearing down on you, because nothing short of a Stanley Cup will make people happy even if you don't have the roster for it.

Speaking of the Grizzlies, are they keeping the ECHL team in Utah or has there been any mention of relocation? Asking since Columbus had a similar situation when the Blue Jackets joined the league and the ECHL already had the Columbus Chill in that market. The Chill ended up relocating to Reading.

Was that a building availability thing? I mean, Chicago (obviously a much bigger city) has the AHL Wolves and the Blackhawks. The Grizzlies and Utah HC won't be in the same building. If they have decent attendance, they'll probably wait at least a year before deciding to ship out...

The Chill did not play in Nationwide Arena (I think their rink was at the Ohio State Fairgrounds?).

I don't think they did, but did CBJ ever play in a different arena early on...? Nothing comes to mind, but it's been a while now...

Pretty sure they've been in Nationwide since the inception, because the arena was part of the deal to bring a team into CBus.

Yeah CBJ was at Nationwide year one. I went to the first Pens game in that building in 01.

They were going to be the Utah Bees but apparently a bee once knew a guy who sexually assaulted an inanimate object in 1860

There was also a bee who dated a high school student when he was 38 years old.

Nice goal. But if I were on the team losing 7-0 and someone Michigan'd to go up 8 I'd definitely take his head off.

Yeah it would be. I get the whole powder reference since Utah is big for its skiing locations and all, but then again there's the whole "Take a power" thing going on too. LOL
