The only time I come out of the saddle with purpose is when playing Lanebreak. It's the easiest way to get to the 200% bonus.

I actually enjoy being out of the saddle on the real heavy heavy pushes. Outside of that though...in the saddle for me.

Yeah, that's why it's tough to compare. I'm getting 'credit' for higher output because I have more mass. But, in fairness, I'm working harder because of that mass.

My wife has a hard time with this. She's less than half my weight and gets really mad when we do the same workout and I burn twice as many calories.
anytime someone post their burn to their Instagram stories I always check the profile pic before getting pissed about how many more calories they burned than me, you and I won't even come close to burning the same amount of calories. if I hit 380 active calories on a 45 minute ride, I'm happy with that.

Did my 100th ride today. I was going to do a ride with Kendall at 7:30am, but it got cancelled. Emma had a 20 minute HIIT ride at 10am so I did that. I did get a shoutout, well she at least said my name not the numbers after it, but I'll take it haha. That was no joke of a ride either. Spent at the end.

Finished my 8 week workout rotation at the gym last week, so yesterday was measuring day.

Start 1/31/17: 173.6 lbs
3/8/20 (right before COVID): 200.6 lbs
5/18/21 (return from COVID): 188 lbs
3/16/22: 196.8 lbs

I'm shocked that I've almost gained back everything I lost during COVID in as little time as I have, considering it took me 3 years to put on 27 pounds. All of my metrics and area measurements (chest, biceps, shoulders) are going up in a positive way.

I am a bit crazy...and since I started the new powerzone program I have more data to play with. It's an addiction.

Honest to God, I am convinced the biggest reason I work out is not personal improvement, it's because I am generating all that sweet, sweet data. Must be why I have a weather station back too.

Working my way through the PZ program. Did my first 45 minute ride today. Not bad at all. It's just a different vibe and training style focusing on zones rather than instructors calling stuff out. I dig it.

I also did a metal ride with some German instructor yesterday...that was interesting haha.

Wow, the PZ Program is all 45/60 minute classes eh? That might be why I've never done it.

Not all. The first week there wasn't one more than a 30. This week there is three 30 minutes, and one 45. I think in week 3 or 4 I saw a 60 minute one...so they have them varied.

Oh, my bad. I was looking at the 'Build' program. I imagine you're in the 'Discover' program.

not true. there are plenty of 30 minute PZ rides. most of the Endurance rides (I'd say the program is 60% Endurance rides) are 45-60 minutes but "regular" PZ rides and PZ Max rides include a ton of 30 minute rides.

ssb, I've never done the PZ Programs. I just pick individual PZ classes that I want to do that day, usually with Olivia or Matt. Aside from the tests I've only ever done 30 and 45-minute PZ rides.

I'm not sure I can commit to a program where I only do a certain type of ride for several weeks. I like to shift around.

oops, my bad. I didn't realize you were talking about the programs themselves. I was thinking the overall PZ section of the filter.

I have a friend who just signed up for the PZ Pack (Facebook group) mini-challenge. I looked at it and I think every ride that's not an "extra credit ride" is either 45 or 60 minutes. especially during Penguins season, I just don't have that kind of time every other day since I ride after work (usually around 6:20PM) and my SO is usually holding dinner for me.

Did my 2nd PZ 45 minute ride today. Beat my last 45 minute one by quite a bit. I can sense I'm getting stronger and outgrowing my zones a bit, or things are at least easier.

Will be interesting after the next two weeks when I take the test to see what the improvement is. I might have been a bit low to begin with since I didn't know what I was really doing when I took the test....who knows.

I have been putting off taking another FTP, but need to.

When they do Zone 1 "active recovery", it's way too easy.
