I mentioned the same observation in a group chat and got the same advice. He said as long as it has a groove down the middle to protect some sensitive nerves it's okay.

I figured out the Garmin problem. It broadcasts on Ant+, not Bluetooth, so I was barking up the wrong tree when configuring it.

Source of the post The seat is tough, need to see if I can upgrade to a gel seat or something. I'm a fat guy and it really gets in there.
This is actually a good thing. Gel seats will give you more of a chapped ass than a hard seat. Your toosh will get used to the hard seat eventually.
I’m sorry, but I’m hesitant to trust anyone who tells me that my ass will just get used to it.

You could try padded shorts rather than a padded seat. I have pairs of these:

They come in sizes big enough for my big fat ass. I've been using one pair or another every day for nearly a year now, and they're holding up pretty well.

Hmmm.

I kind of like the idea of the fat literally being abrasively removed. ;)

Wife hates the seat, too. Makes a certain body part hurt.

Are you guys sitting far enough back? My first ride I sat too far toward in the seat and it wasn’t comfortable at all.

Because of their cost, unknown characteristics to non-experts and impact on your skeletal health, office chairs should be acquired over prescription.

I need a new one but I need one that’s perfect for my back/pelvis. There’s no chance I can figure this out without professional help.

I've been pretty happy with my Secretlab Titan gaming chair. Had it probably close to three months now. It's a little on the firm side, but it's nicely adjustable and is holding up great. Mine arrived with a small crack in the plastic of the right armrest, and Secretlab promptly replaced that part under warranty. It was $459 total.

First off, should they really cost as much as they do? I have no clue what goes into making a chair, but seems to me a chair should be no more than $200.

With that said, my company basically gave me a blank check my first week there and said get a nice chair. It’s worked out so far but I think getting fitted for one would have been more useful.

It’s like buying wine, when you have no prior knowledge. You assume more expensive is better, but then realize the cost structure makes no sense, and it’s largely a matter of personal preference anyway.

But I’m here with a chair that feels comfortable in the short run but I think is doing long term harm. Big old puzzle.

...maybe gaming chairs are something to pursue. Thanks Shyster.

How many push ups could you do? If you were given, say, $5 a push up, how many could you bang out?
Ok, I finally gave this a shot...I'll take 205 of your soggiest dollars, please...

(Also, one right shoulder surgery...)

My chest has always been exquisitely garbage, and every time I gain any traction, I find a way to ruin a shoulder...

I wanted you to do the push-ups. Not your lady friend.

I figured, hey, what chairs out there have to be pretty much designed specifically for less-than-fit men to sit in for long, long periods of time?

Bought this over the weekend on your recommendation. Legitimately delicious ranch dressing. Basically every hipster or healthy ranch is awful. This stuff is great.
very glad that you like it. I don't know how they make it taste just like Ranch but I'll take it!
Finally found this; wife and I both like it. Thanks. :thumb:

This completely fixed my soreness issues:

Now I just need underwear/shorts without stitching on the inner thighs and I'm good.

Got chosen in the lottery to do the half Rachel Carson Challenge. I've made a terrible mistake. 3 months to go from couch potato to hiking/running 18 miles.

Sounds like a plot from a dystopian horror novel.
