That’s a colon cancer screening (for individuals with a normal risk of colon cancer). This where you bleed onto a sticky note and send it into the internet.

So, my girlfriend - before we met - sent her DNA into the internet to learn about her family history...I read through it, and it's more or less nonsense...there wasn't a lot of concrete stuff in there I didn't think...at least, it wasn't worth the squeeze I didn't think...

Did you feel the same about this...? Like does it say, "there's a 46% chance that swallowing gum more than four days a week might be detrimental to you..."

Or is it just like, "yeah man, if you keep eating red meat and drink dark liquor, your ass will fall clean off in five years..." how much is on the definite or near-definite side of things and how much is actionable versus how much of it is just horoscope-level guess work... ?

I am running in the Blue-Gray Half Marathon out in Gettysburg on the 25th. Because I am an idiot and didn't get my packet mailed to me, I got a hotel out there so I could drive out Saturday, get my packet, and then do the race Sunday morning. I will be going solo so the night away will be nice.

I did a training run Saturday morning through the farmland around my house. 7.5 miles, 500 feet of elevation climb, was still able to maintain a 7:55 pace throughout. Feeling like I've never been in better shape for one of these races, and I think the course itself is only a little over 500 feet of climb for the whole thing, so we shall see.

My goal time is 1:48. My previous best was closer to two minutes.

It’s enlightening to have a sort of baseline of food sensitivities. And it seems very much aligned with my half-assed takes on the subject. I was doing a lot of “eat sandwich. feel like death. gluten intolerance? yes!” kind of stuff. There were a few surprises that actually make sense. Like my number two was egg whites. I eat like a dozen eggs a week. Three days without that and I have noticed an uptick in my feeling goodness. And it tests like 190 foods. The results are easily readable.

Interesting...maybe I'll give it a look too...I've been looking at these, but I just couldn't tell if the info was legit or if it was either based too much in reading the chemical ingredients in my food or if it was too coin toss-y to be worthwhile...glad you posted your experience...

And you can pay for it out of your HSA - which is like some mythical account that just steals my money every pay day, but whatever. You being a child, though, makes me think you don’t have one.

I was unaware you could claim a gimp as a dependent. Makes sense I guess.

Or you could eat what you want and deal with it like a proper gentlemen. I remember after my recent colonoscopy a couple months back they said I should stick to a mediterranean diet. Does that involve eating six slices of pizza while slamming oat sodas all day? It better, because who the **** knows what a mediterranean diet means

Anyone have a Peloton bike? We got one and I'm loving it so far. But man does my ass hurt from that seat. Any tips?

We bought this seat cover and it cured my wife and I's ass woes:

Everyone says you'll get used to it but she wasn't having that nonsense.

Not asking for me.

If you’re in your 50’s with teenaged kids and cancer treatment means you’re impotent and incontinent for life and no treatment means death in 10 years...???

Tough situation brewing with someone close to me. I don’t know what I would do, tbh.

Death. Just go out as best as you can...living that life is no way to live, you'll just be a burden...don't drag them down with you...

I assume prostate cancer?

Incontinence and impotence seem like acceptable tradeoffs to maybe one day play with your grandchildren and watch them grow up.

Sucks to have any kind of bag, but it's not a deal breaker IMO. I have a friend who got an ostomy bag in his 40's because of UC and it hasn't slowed him down at all.
