Not sure why someone would want to give up the monthly anxiety and stress of finding out a new child is on its way.

After having my vasectomy, something clicked in mrs meow. Ya boy meow struggled to keep for a few months. Almost got to a point where I would have had to tag one of you mutants in

Something in their DNA. I’m no scientist. All I know is the spirit was willing, but the flesh was spongy and bruised

Just learned that my physician is moving to a concierge-style practice. Meaning you pay an annual fee, and then a small fee for an office visit. No insurance accepted. This is the second physician that's done this to me, and it's annoying. If I had a lot of health issues it would make sense, but I just don't think it's worth it - and now I get to go find another physician. Ugh.
I was just talking about this yesterday though we were discussing how almost no chiropractors we know take insurance. I get why. it's a PITA to deal with insurance companies but I just don't see how some folks I know afford some of these costs, even if they're using flex spending accounts. I know that i don't have that kind of disposable cash. I actually started wondering if medical doctors would start doing that kind of stuff too.

Physical therapists >>>>> chiropractors

They do the same thing, but will actually help strengthen you and get you to the point where you don't need adjustments.

Now I had to pay a decent amount for PT for my back, but it was worth it.

My chiropractor graduated a couple of years ago, and it took 8 months to get her practice set up on Blue Cross Blue Shield. Stupid.

Vasectomy scheduled for Aug 10th...should be fun times.
August 23rd.

I really like this urologist. Been around a long time, just gave me the needed information.

Honestly, the part I am looking forward to the least is the numbing shot.

The Urlogist I saw was a woman, but she is like the head person at UPMC for that department or what not. She was really nice and gave me the rundown without pressure.

She said the once they do the numbing shot you feel nothing and it should be done in like 10 minutes. Said just to make sure I have supportive underwear and lots of ice for later in the day. Ice was key to not being miserable after the numbing stuff wears off.

Your good friend shmengy is going through a thing.

I knew I’ve had gluten issues for a while. I always feel better without it but it’s been a passable experience to indulge. But I’m pretty sure I’m headed towards celiac country now. Gluten seems to be the cause of a mysterious pain disorder I’ve had for about 7 years. Like I can’t do literally anything other than laying down without being in debilitating pain. I’ve detoxed recently and feel like a million bucks.

Gluten is the tits. Hyper critical to my overall joy. This is gonna be bad - mainly because dairy also seems out. As well as anything with nightshades (aka flavor).

Send me your various cardboard and banana peels to eat, if you could. I’m out of ideas.

I have a cookbook that gives alternate directions on how to cook most of the recipes without nightshades if you want a rec.

I’ve already been nightshade free-ish. Pumpkins and carrots, yeah. We’ve done Paleo and even the AIP version which is extreme.

Thanks though. I assume you’ve had similar battles.

Not personally, just trying to help. I cook Paleo because I feel better when I'm on what is basically a whole foods diet. The only thing it would cure for me, if I adopted it full time, is fatness.

Ran my first 5k in two years this morning. I've been running only on a treadmill while my son takes a nap, so running outside was a bit of a transition. 22:55. Pretty happy with that.

I'd be thrilled with a sub 23 5k. I think my best was in the 25 or 26 minute range and I'm much more out of shape now.

What was a 20lb. Kettlebell going for, pre COVID? I've seen a couple for about $33 which seems high, but I don't have anything to base that on.

Two things from camp meow

1. I’m sure you’ve had every test under the sun, but have you/your doc thought about your gallbladder? Buddy of mine was battling similar issues and the gallbladder removal cured all. It’s a low hanging fruit, so I assume you’ve had it checked out

2. Casa de meow has very similar dietary restrictions. We basically stay to the outside of the grocery store. Fresh produce and meat. Nothing frozen. Nothing processed. Very infrequent canned goods. I battle gluten problems. mrs meow battles dairy and egg problems. We haven’t noticed issues with any fruits, veggies, or meat so that’s basically all we eat. And some nuts.

Great time! My personal best was 23 on the nose. That's really solid.

Hopped on the treadmill for the first time in months, probably close to half a year. Pinched nerve in my back in the spring followed by shoulder surgery in May meant lots of downtime. Even running for a mile felt good, although I'm sure the folks at PT will tell me that was a big no-no. I had been asking for the last few weeks if I could even go for a light jog and they kept telling me that the impact from running and the extended time of swinging my arm wouldn't be ideal right now. Well, I kinda ignored that for 10 minutes yesterday.

Supposedly I'm getting cleared for a bunch of stuff at my three month mark, which is this Thursday. I'm hoping running is one of those things. I haven't done **** all summer. Some of it was because of COVID, some of it was limitations post-surgery. But I definitely put on a few lbs that need to be gone, and getting back on the treadmill would help with that problem.
