Every once in a while work gives me a nice surprise. Got an email from my manager giving me 2000 "points"..which basically works out to $200 in whatever digital gift card I want as a thank you for some recent work. It's not huge, but it's still nice.

I've got $450 sitting in my Schrute Bucks account at work. We used to be able to use our money toward items from Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. But then the finance team figured out that the way the system works, it has to be taxed. Now we can only get visa gift cards and then we pay the tax on them as they're counted as income.

I have an ungodly amount of gift cards in and around my office I need to use before I lose them. I'm terrible with those.

I have two gift cards to my local golf course, and I've been there a half dozen times and have forgotten them each time

Mrs Tif's company is big on this sort of stuff. Can range from 'performance points' (which can be converted to gift card $$), to a 3-month wine club subscription, to Bombas socks.

Currently slated for 9/20, but that may be sooner if the background checks are completely more quickly.

California courts are super delayed right now (and always because Cali blows horses)...clears come back way faster than hits...so, I assume you have that advantage...but some courts, like Riverside County, take minor traffic cases along for the ride, which mucks things up a bit...

My wife just told me that she has to go on site for a go live next weekend. Everyone will be in different rooms in multiple buildings, so basically nobody will be in the same room together. They will all be on the same bridge line in Teams.

Why the **** do these people have to go on site to do exactly what they would be doing from home? This makes no sense at all.

The technology is hosted in a datacenter 50 miles away from the hospital. Like most health systems.

In meow’s….uh….experience…a ring light makes your average webcam look 10x better and there is no need for anything special.

We tend to use Logitech C920s. Nothing super fancy but it works and looks fine.

This x1000. Also second the C920. It does a good job overall.

Also can confirm the lighting is more important than the webcam. It's a pet peeve of mine that we're 18 months into people working from home and you still have numpties going on national television using the fluorescent light in their kitchen to illuminate their shot.

I have green wallpaper leftover from the old owners, which turns me and my clothes green, according to my crappy laptop cam. Also have poor natural light. And finally, I use an ultra wide monitor so my camera is waaaay off to the side.

I’m a complete disaster but I also like that no one can tell if I look bedraggled. But it’s time to grow up and get a proper camera since this is life now.

However…I’ll defend my camera angle a little bit. When we communicate in person, we don’t mush our faces 10 inches apart. We see body language and hand gestures and whatever else exists below your chin. My way is better. But it’s not normal, so here we go.

The C920 can be positioned well on your monitor to help with that, including angling it down. I have mine in the middle of two monitors. Of course, I never turn it on…

You can use the green wallpaper to construct a rudimentary green screen so you can add an attractive background all fancypants-style.
