I’ve made the point to multiple friends that I give two Fs about UEFA. F them, cut them out. I don’t even mind the 12 founding members getting a slice of the profits no matter what. They stuck their necks out, they deserve it. The absolute main sticking point so the guaranteed spot in the competition. It’s a joke, and it’s embarrassing. City could drop into the championship and make more money than any other team on the planet. Qualification and relegation is the soul of European football. Taking that away will destroy it.

as someone that's aware but doesn't really follow soccer, I'm disappointed that it already fell apart. Club soccer is uninteresting. The same 2 clubs tend to win championships year after year (except the EPL which is about 5 clubs) and all the best players are diluted amongst the different leagues. Putting the best teams in the same league makes the national leagues more competitive and fun and of course the ESL in and of itself would be a lot of fun to watch

weren't they planning on having 20 teams in the ESL? that's the same as the Premier League. So it'd be like taking the top teams from the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and PAC-10 and making a 12 team conference (though notn all those leagues have 12 members). It'd be the same amount of teams
