I think so, but not anytime soon. I think Cersei made her intentions clear, to agree to the armistice so that Dany will go north with her dragons to fight the white walkers. I imagine that Jamie is going to go with him, because they aren't going to agree to go unless the Lannisters put some skin in the game. And after Jamie see's these things, and Cersei does stuff that undermines their effort, he could turn on her.

There's no way he kills her now "with child" but I see him like you said having a massive change of heart after going north and pushing for peace. At that point Cersei goes full maniac and spills the beans that she was never preggers and said that to control him. He gives one more chance to change, she goes all BURN THEM ALL in her own specific way and he kills her.

I hope Jamie kills her. If he does, I don't see it being a moment-of-passion thing. That's why this pregnancy makes me wonder whether it will actually happen--I can't see him planning to kill her while she is pregnant. I also don't see her having the baby because it messes with the prophecy. So, with all those pieces in mind, I'm now thinking it might not be Jamie that does her in.

Regardless of how it happens, I want her haircut to die.

Dickie Dunn thinks you're a f***ing idiot

...but I agree. Season 3 is the best. This season is entertaining but...different.
Hey now. I never said "**** idiot". Don't go putting words in my mouth. At worst I merely implied "idiot".
I think the pacing highlights the poor pacing of the prior 6 years, actually.

Sloooooow sloooooow slooooooooooooooow fast as sht

We slogged through a lot of filler only to be handed inverse filler this year. Not awesome.
I think if they could go back and do it all over again Benioff and Weiss would have been less beholden to the books from the very start and just set their own pace.

That would have created another run of the mill fantasy show. The whole reason it's soooooo good is the slow burn and the delayed gratification.

They seem to be setting Dany up to be a bad actor.

I also think this "dream team' they're sending past the wall to snag a white walker is pretty cheesy.

There still could have been delayed gratification without so much delay. A pace somewhere between the slog of Season 2 and the breakneck of Season 7. Maybe a bit less sexposition. Dany not spending an entire season in Qarth. Bran not being absent for an entire season. I think if you went back and did a nip here and a tuck there in the earlier seasons we would be roughly at the same point in Season 7, but without people going from Dragonstone to King's Landing to Dragonstone to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea in a single episode.

I imagine next episode will have character building banter as the Westerosian Suicide Squad makes its way north of The Wall, but in earlier seasons that banter would have taken place as they made their 1,000 plus mile boat ride from Dragonstone, around The Fingers, past Widow's Watch and Karhold, and into the Bay of Seals to get to Eastwatch.

Did anyone else think Gendry looked like Christian Bale with that haircut?
Christian Bale with a smile.

if the books were all done before season 1, then the pacing would have been different from the start. i imagine they envisioned completing the story alongside GRRM. At least they thought WoW would have come out before they had to start improving. so they held steady and we were given placeholders like Dorne. they eventually realized it wasn't going to play out that way, but by then they ran out of time. it's an expensive show with too many moving parts, so they couldn't just tack on a couple extra seasons.

we wouldn't have seen the 1 season per book approach (up front) if they had some time to step back and look at the story as a whole.

I know the faster pace has created some story issues and random stuff this year, but I much rather have this place than the slog we had in some of the earlier seasons where you had several episodes of nothing happening at all.

i thought half of the slow pace was superb and half of it was slog.

unpopular opinion alert...up until S6, i've found most things involving jon snow to be a chore.

I need to not go to reddit.

Just put a theory out there that the camera made sure to have a close up with the maid little finger was paying money to. Arya kills her "because traitors" which was foreshadowed with her Sansa convo. (Speaking ill of Jon was unpunished) Arya has a short fuse, is a killing machine, and needs a face to get close to little finger.

I would say that at the very least most things involving Jon Snow FELT like a chore because I don't think Kit Harrington is a very good actor. The show has done an excellent job casting the "adult" roles. Casting kids, especially when you need to project what they will look like and how good of an actor they'll be 7 years down the line, isn't an easy task. Dany as a character gets a lot of **** from people and Emilia Clarke gets similar **** as an actress, but I think she's fine in the role and most of the hate is because she's a hot white chick. Maisie Williams has been perfect since day one. Sophie Turner has improved as an actress and grown into the role. Jack Gleeson was incredible. Isaac Hempstead Wright is fine. Richard Madden and Alfie Allen are both solid. Kit Harrington is just bland and boring.

Jon Snow in the books is insufferable. I think Kit's performance is authentic if nothing else.

And there will be three - after Jaime kills Cersei (with his gold hand, much like Azor Ahai tempered Lightbringer by killing his wife Nissa Nissa).
I have a feeling that the fabled knight is going to be Sandor Clegane. He's had quite the change over the last few seasons. The lord of light seems to be speaking loudest to him. He saw the visions in the fire with clarity that Melessandre would burn kids for.

I haven't read the books, but most of the people I talk with that have, really like Jon in the books. More so than in the show.

in the books, he's a teenager who is reluctantly thrust into a leadership position. it comes with a lot of annoying angst.

This is what i see happening too. Beric told Sandor that the lord of light "wants him alive". They like to foreshadow things, so maybe he gets the Tal Rasha treatment (nerd alert) and willingly turns dead, and perhaps can be made alive later.
