I just finished a show from something called WGN America network called Manhattan (on Hulu). Yes, it was about the Manhattan Project, specifically the goings on at Los Alamos. It aired in 2014-15, only 20 episodes. Great cast - Rachel Brosnahan (who plays another Jewish newlywed), Ashley Zukerman, Richard Shiff, Christopher Denham, among others), but lean on actual real history, sadly.

At one point, one of the characters has a flashback to WWI and he flips over a dead German...who inexplicably has a Nazi emblem on the rear of his helmet. So not only is it historically inaccurate, they think little of their audience. Another scene, where the British scientists made a big deal of sharing their breakthroughs on fission or whatever, a large bulletin board with papers and charts pinned to it, with a Union Jack put on as well, just to remind the viewers where the info came from.

I could go on, but I did enjoy the show overall. I am a sucker for WWII, and the Manhattan Project is a fascinating topic. The Trinity Site - the first nuclear bomb explosion - still has unsafe levels of radiation, 75 years later. Crazy.

I remember seeing a commercial for that show back when it first aired and thought it looked interesting and oddly expensive for something on WGN America.

Yeah, I would have loved to have seen it on a bigger network. Los Alamos had 3000 people working on the bomb at one point in real life, but the show focused on a dozen or so (with extras scurrying around behind them). The production values were pretty good, and shot on location in New Mexico (thanks, Breaking Bad!)

It took 8 or 9 episodes but my wife finally understands why the Wire is so good and is hooked.

Yeah, I'm officially at the point where The Wire jumped ahead of The Shield for me. I'm going to be super upset when I finish the series.

Duff’s got some big time MILF energy going on these days but I don’t see how that translates into this being even decent.

I endure watching Younger with my wife due to her MIlF energy. I’m not sitting through the HIMYM experience again though.

That show ended so terribly it is damn near, if not exactly, unforgivable. Just pure dog ****.

I'll definitely watch for this possibility. They'll have very little time to show me why I need to keep my Showtime subscription.

We were scrolling Netflix last night and a tile caught Mrs Tif's eye. "Hm, 'Making A Murderer'. What's that? That sounds interesting, let's watch."

I was like, "You........ really don't......... have you not............... wat..."

Welcome to 2018.
