They didn’t say one of the only… and I agree - Charlie Cox was amazing as DD/Matt Murdoch.

Plus some new guys:
The premiere was okay. But more importantly, James Austin Johnson had one of the biggest debuts I’ve ever seen. Dude was everywhere and seemed very comfortable. He’s also the new Biden so clearly the show has faith in him. Nice to see that role go to a cast member.

Yeah, he wasn’t the best Biden, but not the worst. Better than Jim Carrey mannerism-wise IMO, but Jim looked more like Biden.

The biggest surprise for me was the new girl. I thought she was great in the stool testing commercial skit.

It’s just crazy how much he was used as a new featured player in his first show. He reminded me a lot of Darrell Hammond. And I agree Sherman was great in that skit. It’ll be interesting to see how weird they allow her to get.

Law & Order was revived for season 21… a decade after season 20 ended. Depending on which vets come back, I may actually watch. The new L&O with Stabler is pretty good, and renewed my faith in it.

I started watching the sopranos again. Havent' watched it since it's original run, so It's been 22 years since I watched season 1 (can't believe it's been that long, seems like yesterday).

Still f'ing awesome. I'm half way through season 1. It's funny though, they are knocking off trucks of DVD players and Tony brought his mom a CD player to play her music as some high tech gift. Also watching Tony and AJ play Mario Kart on the N64 was great.

I watched it for the first time right after I finished the wire. I cringed a little bit every time they would talk business over the phone lol.

We have 4 episodes left in the series. It's so much better when binged. The only other time I saw it was as it aired. A lot of the "pointless storylines that had no resolution" make much more sense now. Almost all of them (if not all of them) are used to further develop Tony's character.

I tried watching it for the first time last week. Couldn't get through the first episode.

Johnny Cakes tho

…which actually wouldn’t have been a disaster if they used a different actor. The fat guy in no way seemed comfortable in that role.

Apparently I never watched the last few episodes of King of Queens. Probably for the best.

The story line was ok, I think. Having to pretend to be someone else, simply to stay alive, and feeling the tug back to that world.

But choosing THAT character played by THAT actor. Good gracious, no. No no no.

Finally watching Billions season 5. Split in half due to the pandemic, the first few episodes aired back in May 2020 and the last aired on Sunday.

Such great dialogue, very few likeable characters, and I love the attention to detail with what strings billionaires (and millionaires) can pull: calling the owner of Una Pizza Napoletana and having him make takeout pizzas; a famous real-life NYC pilates and yoga trainer can be whisked off to a corporate retreat just to service Axe and crew; and lots of little details and cameos like that.

Unfortunately, the ending of this season was spoiled for me just 12 hours after the episode aired. Thanks, Google Assistant.

Squidgame was fun. Hopefully, if there is a S2 it doesn’t get **** over by corporate bullshit.

Yeah, you likened him to Darrell Hammond later in this thread, and aside from some physical mannerisms, he seems to be the new resident impressionist (even though Villasenor is still in the cast, though they still don't know what to do with her), so that seems pretty spot on.

I think it's about expected from a premiere. You have those character-fest sketches that barely count as sketches (like the covid school town hall or whatever) just so everyone can get some face time in the episode.

Unless I'm mistaken, no Kate. I imagine she might be doing what Cecily did last year, which was not be around for every show while she's got other **** going on.
