Nate Washington and Parker's replacement Najeh Davenport each score two touchdowns, Ike Taylor somehow intercepts a ball and returns it 51 yards for a touchdown. Big Ben (16/20, 261 yards) and Mark Bulger (18/35, 208 yards) each throw for three touchdowns. Hines Ward caught 6 receptions for 59 yards, surpassing John Stallworth as the all-time Steelers' leader in career reception yards.

This game was advertised as the 1,000th game in Steelers' history, although that figure was misleading as they included postseason games. Maddox connects with Hines Ward for two touchdowns (9 and 22 yards), while Rams' RB Arlen Harris runs for three touchdowns; one from the 1 yard line and from nine yards out twice. Bulger threw for 375 yards (22/37), throwing one TD to Torry Holt. Holt racked up 175 yards on 7 receptions. Maddox went 12/28 for 159, while The Bus ran 12 times for 42 yards.

Kordell Stewart also runs for two TDs (7 yards and 2 yards), while Erric Pegram runs for a 91 yard kickoff return along with scoring a 17 yard TD to set the final score at 42-6. If you were a fan of passing, then this wasn't the game for you. Jim Miller and Mike Tomczak combined for 100 yards (Miller, 4/8, 40 yards; Tomczak, 6/7, 60 yards). Chip Lohmiller did all of the scoring for the Rams, chipping in FG's from 25 and 27.
